CNN tanking

After a series of embarrassments and scandals, CNN is in full blown crisis mode, with the network now attracting fewer viewers for its primetime shows than multi-decade old re-runs of Yogi Bear.

Aside from its ongoing feud with President Trump, CNN was rocked by multiple video releases by James O’Keefe last week, including one featuring a producer who called Americans “stupid as shite” and other showing Van Jones admitting that the Trump-Russia collusion story was “just a big nothing burger”.

But things got even worse this week when the network was on the receiving end of a huge backlash as a result of its intimidation campaign against the individual allegedly responsible for creating the Trump-wrestling meme.

The impact of the O’Keefe revelations looks to have been devastating for CNN. For the week of June 26th – July 2nd, the network’s primetime evening shows, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon, drew fewer viewers than old re-runs of Yogi Bear, Full House and Friends, which air in the same time slots on Nick-At-Nite, an offshoot of Nickelodeon.

CNN’s best shows are less popular than 40-year-old re-runs of a cartoon about a talking bear.
Let that sink in.

CNN’s primetime ratings in the 25-40 demographic are also plummeting based on a 7-day average.

A comparison of May to June emphasizes how quickly CNN is hemorrhaging viewers.

For the month of May, CNN averaged 821,000 viewers per hour throughout the entire day and 1.12 million total viewers during the prime time hours. This dropped to 666,000 TV viewers throughout the day and only 882,000 viewers during primetime by the end of June.

With the Trump-Russia collusion story fading into the background, an issue that CNN vigorously pushed for ratings despite knowing it was “mostly bullshite,” according to supervising producer John Bonifield, the network is reeling.

CNN’s decision to basically declare war on the Internet with its targeting of the maker of the Trump-WWE meme is only likely to worsen the situation.

I don't watch very often myself, but their ratings among posters on this board must be sky high.

One day recently, almost every thread on the first page was about CNN. There are a few today too. Poli board loves to hate-watch CNN.

They provided all the data. Is there a number in there you disagree with? as much as i dislike cnn for their vast amount of fake news I will still give them credit when they post accurate stories. These types of responses about infowars when they are about the most credible outlet out these days is a bit silly.

Don Lemon said last night

"CNN's just fine"

Which means, of course, they aren't. Why else would he even address it?

When they spend multiple segments whining about Trump daring to criticize them, what do they expect ratings to do?

Occasionally, I flip over to them just to see if all the claims about lop-sided viewpoints are true. It's always worse than I expected.

Well you have a choice. Watch the show yourself to form your own opinion and not look a fool when posting about CNN or you can elect not to watch it and base your opinions off of other poster's opinions who probably hasn't watched CNN either. I choose the former.

Watching CNN and MSNBC is studying political game films. You know, learn something about your opponent - like in football.

That's because Yogi is "smarter than the average bear", and CNN is dumber than the average MSM!

This is the pure beauty of Capitalism, the Advertisers will take over how FNN proceeds, it is real simple, they are hemorrhaging MONEY.

People can say all the negatives they want about Capitalism, this is a GIANT GOOD ASPECT of it

I literally put the numbers in the text of the original post. You didn't even have to click on the link to get that info.

You are making yourself look a bit closed minded.

Where? All I see is a graph, that is apparently based on the ratings data, yet the story only provides the June 28th ratings data.

In other words, the raw data wasn't provided.

I wonder how they compare to MSNBC, where the Lefties go for their nightly Kool Aid to be reminded that everything is terrible.

For someone who claims to be, wait, what is it you claim to be? You sure do lack basic skills

You act like the articles are only sourced as infowars or gateway pundit, so they have no merit. But the sourcing clearly has links to Variety and TVNewser. The Variety article talks about CNNs recent surge to the numbers given, and then TVNewser shows where CNN falls to 13th in the most recent ratings

Its really not that difficult to find. Even for you
