She said you have no justification saying this as a Yale educated black man, who authors books and served as the highest levels of govt. How do you not admit the leaps blacks have made in this country?

His response was "How dare you say that to my face?"

Not accurate. She told him that he should be a racial reconciler instead of a racial polemicist. That's what made Jones say that she should be ashamed to say that to his face, taking issue with the dismissal of his efforts at racial reconciliation.

I think it is silly the way people have problems with Van Jones. He said race was a part of the election, specifically mentioning the alt-right as marbled through the right-wing populist revolt. Many people who self-identify as "alt-right" openly admit this. There are posters on this board who seemingly admit this.

Now, I think economics was a bigger part than the race part. Many people are struggling financially and it seems that Donald's populist message and business braggadocio appealed to a lot of these people. It also seems that some people who voted for Donald lied to pollsters.

Problem you have with liberals is that you simply cannot reason with unreasonable people. It's a waste of time even trying.

I agree with your point about economics playing a bigger role than other issues but massively, massively disagree with your stance on Van Jones. One trick pony whose trick is worthless.

Okay, but he always seems like a reasonable guy to me. I know right-wingers generally dislike him, but perhaps you could point to something specific that displeases you.

Jones suffers from text book "inferiority complex ". He's lashing out at white America because he wants to be white. Sounds dumb as shite but it's reality.

His only retort to anything is "but, racist!"

He never brings anything constructive to the table.

His inability to hide his biases his straight up disgusting.

When I said "one trick pony" that's what I meant. Absolutely nothing of value except to rile up dumbasses.

Isn't funny how liberals sit there, smugly in their $2000 tailored suits and say things that have no basis in sanity? This is our media: we are healing race relations with racial animosity and we will will the rust belt on climate change.

I love it.

i didn't vote for the r/d candidate, but this 'race' thing is amusing, to say the least ... people voted for trump because they believe, however unreasonably, he will bring back jobs to their region and/or cull the government ... sprinkle that with a good bit of anti-clinton nausea thrown in, and you have the election ...

His communist ties were just coming out when Obama fired him. That's right, Van Jones is an avowed communist.

I am mad George Steppinhoppolous stopped Mary.

I also wonder if Mary had to calm her hubby...

Either you are intellectually dishonest or intellectually challenged.

Van Jones' presence on so many political shows is unsettling at best. He is a race-baiting communist. That is neither opinion nor invective. It is fact.

Embracing Jones' matter-of-fact issuance of terms like racist, misogynist, etc. toward Trump and his supporters, then bastardizing them as "racial reconciliation", is audacious.

Good for her.

It's time to confront these liberal bigots in a public forum.

Good lord. I just got a chance to view the Matalin-Jones clip for the first time.

We have arrived at a station where not one, but TWO (2) of George Stephanopolous's "expert pundits" at that table are Communists. That is breathtaking.

It is inconceivable to me that ABC would ever invite either Katrina vanden Heuvel and Van Jones onto "This Week" as participants without introducing them as past members of the Communist Party. But inviting them BOTH, as half of an "expert" panel discussing the 2016 election? You have got to be kidding me!
