He's not reasonable. He's crazy. He imitates sanity for brief periods of time to try to fit into polite society.

At least you used an example, so I give you credit for that. But that's not crazy. The title may look crazy at first glance, but the rhetorical point that he made was actually well-reasoned. Now you may disagree with the point, and I think most Republicans would, but there were specific reasons (although, not easily provable) he used the language he did.

inadaze, read up on your stud muffin & then come back here & try to defend him. OBAMA fired him from his administration for being too racial. Obama. A specific example: his use of the word "white lash". Reverse it & let a conservative use the word "black lash" in this same context & the liberals like you would be having heart attacks in pure hate.

I think Mary and the lizard man down at least a bottle of bourbon apiece every night. They look terrible. But, yes, Van Jones is a racial polemicist.

Unfortunately false!

Regarding Jones' communist bonafides, read about "Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM)". If you have further questions, I'll happily discuss them.

Regarding Jones' continual issuance of racebaiting and other incendiaries. Here are a few of hundreds in the PUBLIC domain.
quote:

my deep concern is that Donald Trump is beginning to legitimate some of the dark things that have been in our country for a long time, and now starting to let them elevate, let them rise.
quote:

the Republican Party has allowed this kind of trafficking in dog-whistle politics around race for so long.
quote:

Trump is a racial opportunist who is using racial tensions to get power.
quote:

white polluters and white environmentalists are steering poison into the people-of-color communities, because they don't have a racial justice frame.
quote:

[At the GOP Convention, Jones said] the rhetoric being used tonight is “dangerous” and “takes a whole group of people… and associates them with their very worst elements, that is the very definition of bigotry.”

He went so far as to call it a “borderline hatefest.”

quote:

President George W. Bush's administration "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war"
quote:

Of the GOP . . . "they're assholes"
quote:

Of the GOP . . . "they told us we could bomb and torture our way to peace"
quote:

OK now we want reparations for slavery, we want redistribution of all the wealth

No, Van Jones resigned because of pressure from right-wingers regarding his past and controversial things he said before he worked in the White House.

I remember Glenn Beck used to go after him hard during the Chalkboard Fox News Days.

Don't leave out the words "in part". When you consider the comment in its full context, it's not as outrageous or offensive or whatever.

Also, I know that kind of hypothetical situation flip is common to the point of being hackneyed, but what you said wasn't logical. You don't know how I would react. And you took it upon yourself to label me in that post and that just doesn't work without clear and precise definitions. Really, just a terrible post all-around from you, Keltic Tiger.

There is seriously something wrong with a white woman that would marry that POS.

Mary Matalin is a joke. Presents herself as some kind of conservative. Truth is she's married to that POS slob James Carville. It's all for show.

Drag an ugly liberal professor of political science down the hall and you never know who he'll attract.

Don't be a whiny retarded bitch!

First, I think when you dig up quotes on someone, you have to consider the time period and context. I don't think some of those quotes are that bad anyway (I agree with some of them), but if you're going to be offended or whine and have a meltdown, I think you should consider that some of those things were said many years ago, and I don't know about you, but I give people leeway in general regarding stuff they said in the past.

Second, I think it is good to have different perspectives in political discussions, so even if you have a lot of disagreements with him, I don't see why you'd have such a problem with him being a commentator. I don't see his commentary as race-baiting, but if you do and you can't handle it, just switch to Fox News or something.

Is it the woman's race that makes it a problem for you?

That's all his commentary is.
It's nothing more or less than race-baiting.

Absolutely.

For too fricking long racism has been used by liberals as a shut down indefensible kill shot against anything and anyone they disagree with.

It's time to stop being afraid, fight back, and call them on their bull shite.

Major props to Matalin. Everyone needs to do the same.

That's your take, but I actually think he provides good context for conversations about race. He goes further with it than I would. I wouldn't have made the "whitelash" comment in the way that he did, but he did say "in part" which is a part that people are leaving out when they talk about having a problem with the comment. I think what he said is true to some degree, and I don't really see it in my everyday interactions with people, but I do see it online. But I think there were bigger issues at play for the election.

inadaze, I am wearing my safety pin if you need some free space. And, NO, he was terminated/forced to resign by Obama's administration. Fact check.

Van Jones

Makes me sick to my stomach. His shtick is so embarrassing, I feel transiently embarrassed by witnessing it (albeit through the television). Absolutely incredible. I KNOW he doesn´t believe his own bullshite, and that pisses me off (there is NO way he´s as stupid as he shows himself to be on TV).

Provide some evidence for your claim.

According to David Axelrod, Jones resigned on his own volition.

That's a pretty dumb thing to say when it is right-wingers here on a mostly right-wing board who are whining and complaining that Van Jones said something that offended them on TV. This board is a fricking right-wing safe space.
