your a tad kind to trump. I think a big failure is he hasn't really done anything he said he would on the legislative front.

Some of these are covered in my OP. I'll look at the others and add them to areas as needed.

Possibly.

But the importance of this selection was monumental and was the bedrock of some of Trump's voter base.

The SCOTUS selection alone decides the fate our country takes for a long time and it fell to Trump to decide, and Gorsuch was a dream pick.

In other words, there was one good choice in the general election.

When I became an adult, I realized I'd likely never see my perfect candidate in any elected position.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and bow out of this apparent circle jerk. You claim to be as neutral as you can, and open to amendments on his job "so far", yet failure to repeal and replace so far isn't a failure, daily leaking so far isn't a failure, and failure to drain the swamp so far isn't a failure?

logical result

It's the logical result of Harry Reid's removal of the Senate 60 vote threshold

Sure, but healthcare really should be listed as a failure.

I understand you probably don't like Trump.

But I'm not marking something a failure until they've truly failed.

Yes from all appearances so far, they are failures. But they are still ACTIVELY being worked on. That is why I consider them in a state of stalemate.

Why though?

LINK

There is still a bill being discussed.

Do you not consider it fair to wait until they move on from Healthcare to something else before I mark it as a failure? I understand this bill is likely to fail as well.

Nice try.

If that's the case, you might as well take out like 4 other things from the failures category, as they are current things being worked on, so haven't truly "failed" in your opinion.

By all accounts, Healthcare reform has been a colossal failure. Not sure how or why you think otherwise.

Which 4 things?

Iran Nuclear Deal – He has no intentions of changing stance on this issue, thus a failure.

White House Chaos – The perception of chaos in the white house is already there, it's a failure by him to curtail it and it will always stain the beginning parts of his administration. Sure he could get it under control later, but this will always be an initial failure.

Russia Investigation – The damage has already been done, it will always be a stain on his administration.

Trump’s Rhetoric – The damage has already been done, his rhetoric has been a failure for the most part.

Stance on the Drug War – There is no indication that the administration plans to change their stance here.. Thus a failure.

Civil Asset Forfeiture – There is no indication that the administration plans to change their stance here.. Thus a failure.

By all accounts you are 100% correct, it has been a failure, but they aren't done with it yet.

What's the disconnect here? Why is it a failure if it's still being worked on?

I understand what the likely outcome is, and that's failure. But it's still being looked at, thus stalemate.

White House Chaos – The appearance, whether true or not, of chaos surrounding his administration is a sharp loss considering his rhetoric of disciplined leadership during the campaign.

Perception is reality and people just can't/won't see the WH through the lens of corporate management where under performers are shown the door.

We are too accustomed to a parade of political lackeys getting their resumes boosted via the WH lemon dance. That's what people expect to see.

Kelly working to control things. It could be fixed. Funny how this is an "initial failure", but repeal and replace, leaks, and draining the swamp isn't though.

Stance on the Drug War – There is no indication that the administration plans to change their stance here.. Thus a failure.
There's also been no implementation of things like civil asset forfeiture and rolling back marijuana laws, because it's currently being "worked on"...so in your words, not a failure.

Civil Asset Forfeiture – There is no indication that the administration plans to change their stance here.. Thus a failure.
See above, same answer.

Russia Investigation – The damage has already been done, it will always be a stain on his administration.
Still under investigation, and not complete. Still being worked on.

I actually like your list by the way. I'm not even arguing the positives for Trump, because in my opinion, I agree with those on your list.

But if we really are trying to be neutral and willing to amend things, let's be realistic with the positives AND the negatives.
