My ancestors served in Hood's Division at Gettysburg. I also had ancestors in Gordon's Brigade and Philip's Georgia Legion at Gettysburg.

You self identify and celebrate a movement that went to war to keep a group of humans in slavery because of some melatonin in their skin.

You need some "yankee" in your life.

The South is better than that in the year 2017

Celebrate all you want. Minnesota Calvary took huge losses at Gettysburg. At least they were on the winning side.

And Abe Lincoln let half a million human beings die to stop that despite the fact that was never was Lincoln's first and foremost central goal.

No, I have a lot of sympathy for the south because Abe Lincoln was a war criminal that imprisoned people without due process and let his generals brutalize innocent people just for the sake of brutalizing them.

We've had enough of that for the past 8 years in the White House thank you very much.

“Sirs, you have no reason to be ashamed of your Confederate dead; see to it they have no reason to be ashamed of you.”
Robert Lewis Dabney, Chaplain for Stonewall Jackson

“We could have pursued no other course without dishonour; and as sad as the results have been, if it had all to be done over again, we should be compelled to act in precisely the same manner.”

I started out with nothing. I still have most of it.

They didn't suffer as many losses as the 1st Minnesota Infantry.

I love this man but that kind of mindset is precisely why the south lost the war.

The south surely would have won if they used guerrilla warfare to supplement the other tactics they were already using, especially on the boarders of the union and the confederacy. Guerrilla would've been really effective late 1863 to early 1864.

Its 2017. You think Donald Trump is the coming of R.E. Lee or Jefferson Davis?

I know your talking points will always be "states rights" yada yada yada. The Confederate States of America fought to keep human beings in bondage for economic gain.

Its sad. It's sad that this is being celebrated on the 4th of July.

Trump will never measure up to those two, but we will take him just the same.

Read a fricking good history book man.

Take it from me who didn't vote for Trump in the primaries even as he was barnstorming throughout the south to the nomination. I can definitely see why he won a lot of support from southerners who sympathize with the confederacy.

quote:

Why else do you think Lincoln freed them?

He freed them to attack the south's agrarian economy.

Because of Abe Lincoln's shitstain ways, the United States of America will forever hold the tile of the only major country in the world who ended slavery though a bloody and violent civil war while everybody else ended theirs peacefully without firing a shot.

That's not something to be proud of.
