Chicken et al; the term ranter(s)....

Has anyone ever thought about doing something about the term? Maybe filtering it out? Or calling out its use a bit? The amount its used today is ridiculous. It doesn't add anything to the discussions on the sports boards, its often just used as a way to kill discussions that the using poster doesn't want to think about/discuss.

I suppose that alone doesn't make it THAT bad, but its also used as an insult towards large groups of LSU/other fans on the boards. I am not going to debate if large groups of LSU and other fans on the boards deserve to be insulted minorly, but hasn't it gone a bit overboard?

Wouldn't discussion be a little better/the environment of the sports boards be a little better if every freaking discussion didn't have someone pollute the thread by calling multiple people "rantards?"

Just my 2 cents. Maybe/hopefully the trend will just die off on its own... I've just never been on another sports board where polluting discussion by calling the majority or minority retarded idiots was widespread and accepted.
