most restaurants and places make the majority of their money on fountain drinks with a huge percentage markup. Yet Coke is to blame for the rising chicken finger costs????

Wikipedia says....
quote:

# A 1995 FDA-commissioned report by the FASEB stated that an unknown percentage of the population may react to monosodium glutamate and develop a monosodium glutamate symptom complex. The report compiled several, mostly very non-specific and common, symptoms from anecdotal reports, including burning sensation in the back of the neck, forearms and chest, numbness in the back of the neck, radiating to the arms and back, tingling, warmth and weakness in the face, temples, upper back, neck and arms, facial pressure or tightness, chest pain, headache, nausea, rapid heartbeat, bronchospasm, drowsiness, weakness, and sweating.[6]

Afreaux-this is the kind of "know-it-all" drive by criticism that you specialize in. You rip restaurant after restaurant and throw out falsehood as fact. I don't care for Canes either. But I don't slander them for personal reasons.
MSG, my arse.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. 90% of the restaurants I talk about on the F&D board are Latin food places in BR, and for various reasons I know the owners and/or management of those places that I comment on. You will never see me posting about places I'm not familiar with.

"Personal Reasons"? Give me a f**king break, you make it seem like I'm a covert agent for Fricken Chicken. If anything, it's obvious that you have some sort of connection to Cane's.

So I picked up the phone just now and called the Cane's on Highland to ask if they use MSG in the chicken.

"Yes we do" is what they JUST told me.

Well, if you want us to sell shitty chicken, we'll just buy cheaper crap. Would you rather that?

Are you fricking kidding me? The quality of Cane's chicken is in the fricking dumpster. The only thing that saves the place is the sauce.
No reasonable human could compare Popeye's chicken strips to Cane's and say that Cane's is anywhere near the quality.

frick raising Canes, boycott their asses

MSG manufacturers themselves admit that it addicts people to their products. It makes people choose their product over others, and makes people eat more of it than they would if MSG wasn't added.

Not only is MSG scientifically proven to cause obesity, it is an addictive substance: NICOTINE for FOOD!

Cane's is delicious but only is meant to be eaten after drinking or munchies. And at that point, who cares what is in it. But sober, I'll never go there b/c of health reasons and the ever shrinking portions.

Canes had a raging popularity and decided to make even more money because they were so popular so they cut down on their portions and raised prices thinking people will still pay.
