LINK

This is all over the Freddie Gray death. Protesters are beginning to gather tonight after the 25 year old black male, recently engaged, died of an 80% severed spine. He ends up going into a coma and dies because he wasn't taken to the hospital in time according to the autopsy. A video is in the link and it looks like there may be evidence that Gray has trouble with his legs when the police literally have to carry him to their van. It looks like this stuff will be national news for a while.

Police kill hundreds of people each year in the US. These stories are now national news because it was decided they should be. They never made national news before 2012 (Travyon Martin).

I think it has more to do with cell phones and how fast video gets around now.

According to documents obtained Monday, the April 12 incident began when Gray ran from police.

I remember 10/12 years ago, liberals lamenting that all the news media cared about was missing or dead blond white girls. My, how things have changed.

I'm sure he was just a good boy.

The question I have is why did he take off running when he seen officers approaching?

It averages out to way more than 1 each day. CNN is going to have to create a new channel if they're going to cover all of them.

Point being they don't cover all of them. They pick and choose to select the one which will continue to erode race relations.

I understand you shouldn't run from the cops but does that really justify being so forceful with an unarmed person that they sever their spine?

The report said he had a knife.

Is that what happened? The video only shows them carrying him.

I didn't see that but it was a legal sized pocket knife that was never reached for. They tazed him, I just don't see why it had to go farther than that.

The only way injuries like that happen are by very blunt trauma according to doctors. So at some point while he was in custody he suffered enough trauma to sever his spine.

Probably because he was a black man in Baltimore.

IDK, just my understanding from The Wire.

Wish I knew what percentage of runners get killed vs get away.
