Nope. Lots of old case law on this. It's part of the risk you take (often spelled out on the back of the ticket) when you attend a game. Even when there's a net in front of you.

She had her damn back to the game with seats directly behind home plate, frick her

Probably a troll, but a)walking to her seat, and b) if she had been facing the plate, probably would have been worse.

Even if the woman was staring at the play, she would have still been smoked in the head. No way she could have reacted. The park screwed up here, she was standing on the row and not leaning on the net in anyway

Absolutely not the parks fault. If she would have been staring at the play then the plane of her face would have been at least 6-12" farther back and she would have had a split second to actually react to the ball. People have sat in front of that exact net for thousands of pitches and have not been hit, probably because they arent too close to the net with their backs to the play. This is simply Darwinism folks.

And I would hope the Pirates would lawyer up and bury your arse. It's not the parks fault you werent paying attention, period. Im so sick of the entitlement attitude that is festering in this country.

Yes, bad luck was slightly involved, but everyone creates their own luck.

Not sure how else you're supposed to get to your seat there. I think you just naturally walk down to your seat with your face to the people sitting, not your back, otherwise you're stepping on people's toes.

I'm fairly certain that even if she had been facing the plate, she wouldn't have reacted in time.

Yeah not really a Darwinism at work type of situation. Just shitty arse luck.

I usually crouch down in the aisle and wait to cross through the row after a pitch mainly so im not in people way and block the pitch. Really the only thing she did wrong but it's hard to put too much fault on her.

It's weird at ballgames because it's almost as if the game is just on in the background, even though you're there. People BS'ing the entire time, hardly watching the game until they hear a crack of the bat and the crowd. People walking up and down the aisle during gameplay is pretty common.

Very common, although i think it's kind of dick. Which is why i try not to do it.

But an older person or a woman i would never expect to observe the "move in between pitches" philosophy.
