Navy Seals movie

reminds me of the scene in the charlie sheen movie about Navy Seals going to Beirut and the guide explains all the different jihad groups there fighting each other and everyone.

So, after 9/11 our goal was to win friends abroad?
I can say with some certainty that after 9/11 there was next to nothing we could have done over there that would have been "swiftly rejected at home."
And yet 14 years later (and still counting) we're still over there.
You would literally have to be borderline retarded to still buy this steaming pile of propaganda.

Well, you can't destroy the sources of ISIS militarily, unless you brutally repress the Sunni people of the region. You can destroy the organization, but you'll just have a new organization in a few years.

OF COURSE you need allies in the region. "You would literally have to be borderline retarded" not to understand this basic fact of geopolitics.

And OF COURSE Americans would not be willing to brutally repress the population. And again: what would be the point?? You can't bring "democracy" to a region by depopulating it, and if we don't want to bring "democracy" there, why are we there?

You can manufacture all the conspiracy theories you want.
Lemme guess, you believe 19 radical Muslims took by surprise the greatest and most well-funded military and defense systems in the history of man.
And you accuse me of manufacturing conspiracy theories.

Military plan/strategies are created all the time, it means absolutely nothing. Guarantee there are plans to invade Canada out there as well.
Difference is, (thanks to 9/11) the plans I mentioned are now being carried out.

We have, and I suspect will continue to install pro-American leadership in these countries. It's been our history to do so.

Are you saying you disagree with American foreign policy?

No, but you can insist that our government stop using our tax dollars to fund it.

Not without the funding source of a much greater power.

Who is saying otherwise?

We have for decades. Ignorance is not an excuse.

I think and hope that we've realized that this just won't workout. That region doesn't want our governance.

I'm pretty sure the powers that control this country don't give two shits what the people of that region want.
They have barely shown any consideration to what we want.

Why do people say stupid shite like that?

So genius, after you nuke it - you think there wouldn't be retribution from other countries? Does America control whether a country should live or die? In your opinion they clearly should dictate that.

Our Government don't know how to think and how's that "hope" thing working for us?

It wasn't directed at you; I just used your post to quote something.

Don't you mean Government with intelligence?

I dunno. I really believe things are done and decisions are made for the benefit of the elite. Politicians/government knows exactly what it's doing.
It only appears stupid to us common folk because not only does it have no benefit for us, but usually ends up costing us.

That's just how government works.

You're exactly right! I was being facetious with the intelligent comment.

I was sort of referring just to the ISIS portion of Islam. But yes, religions have always been a good reason to kill people and start wars .
And some religions have even evolved from barbaric times and no longer kill people of differing faiths.

But thanks for asking.
