Sorry for the bump, but to answer this question, they cannot ship charcoal. You place your order, and in about an hour or so you get an email saying that your order is ready to pick up at the customer service desk within the next four days.

Here's a little story from last weekend that happened to me. I'd been looking forward to the annual charcoal sale for months.

I saw Home Depot was having a similar sale, 2 18.6 lb bags for $9.99.

I went to Lowes b/c it is closer, which had advertised $12.99 for 2 20 lb bags. When I arrived at the store I found the charcoal with the big sign that said $12.99. But the sneaky bastards were selling 18.6 lb bags, not 20 lb bags like they listed in the ad. They didn't even have 20 lb bags in the store. I even double checked the ad. I went to customer service and got them to price match Home Depot ($3 cheaper). They agreed, but were also quite rude about it.

So anyway, moral of this long silly story is, if you are stocking up at Lowes, double check what size bags of charcoal they are. And if they are 18.6, go to Home Depot instead.
