Local TV station KATC is reporting that he died. Cannot seem to confirm with any other sources.

Used to go see him at the Candlelight across the river in the late 70's..good times.
Used to come in my buddy's gas station about that time as well. Was a genuinely nice guy.

Saw him at the old Bellemont motel in the early 80's. He was fantastic, good band, good songlist. Baton Rouge had great music back then, great.

Saw him perform the night before the 2003 National Championship game, always will be part of that wonderful memory for me.

An article I read said that in an overly nice gesture, he gave the rights to "When a Man..." to a couple of the guys that wrote a couple licks in the tune, even though Percy wrote most of the song.
He said he never received a penny from the song's royalties. He was also at peace with that bad decision he made too saying it must have been God's will.
