Started out with the AA reds affiliate

Batted about .310 with 12 HR over about 40 games before being called up to triple A

Couldn't hit shite in AAA, managed about a .220 BA with 1 HR and a frickton of strikeouts.

Minors Season ended and got called up to 40 man roster

Currently hitting about .290 with a handful of games left in my rookie season

Playing SS

May start over with an OFer when rosters come out

I should have just started one beforehand but I think I'm still going to wait until V.2 of the rosters comes out. I have other things to tide me over at least so I can manage...for now

I continued my player from last year. Played 3 years with the Marlins as an All-star before they randomly traded me to the Royals. Sitting on 150 careers home runs as we close out the end of year 4. Just looking forward to get my 6 years of service time and bailing to the team of my choice.

Eta:I know I need to bump up the difficulty but I enjoy playing it this way. I don't play every game so my stats tend to even out to a somewhat high end all star level which is exactly where I want it to be.

The dynamic difficulty is pretty neat but on veteran I seem to hit almost too well

Once it bumps me to All-Star, I hit nothing but choppers and popups

I had to simulate base running. I loathe sitting there watching another guy foul off pitch after pitch

Same here. It would be a waste of time to actually play that part. I'll base run if my team ever makes the playoffs.

Back in older RTTS games you'd get on and watch your team proceed to strike out 3 straight times.

My guy is pretty fast too

I was getting to where I could steal rather easily but it can make the games so much longer

How does everyone hit?

I'm using the button style hitting but I'm not usually trying to hit to a zone like the new feature allows

I also don't try to guess pitch because the blinking and noise distracts me

I never guess pitch. I let my eyes do the work. Use button hitting and usually power swing if I get a good first pitch or in a favorable count.

I bat left-handed and hit 42% to right, 30% to center, 28% to left. Still not heavy enough of a pull hitter for them to enforce a shift.

Am I overlooking it or are there no longer manager goals?

I don't really know how to gauge my progress like the last time I had this game (several years ago)

Pure Analog. I don't think the left stick does anything on this setting.

I guess pitch, but it doesn't do like in the past games. It only lights up if you guess the type and place. It used to be if you guessed one or the other, something would light.

Was in AA with the Mets, then got the call to The Show due to injuries. Hovering above .200 right now about a month in.

player is a SS.

i don't think so. Only thing i see is how i'm performing for my year. Only says "as expected" above expectations, etc.

I don't ever guess location but mine was lighting up when I guessed the right pitch

Could be different on your setting

They took away manager goals. I like it but I miss the pop up screen showing my match up and history versus the pitcher.

Now I have to pause and go look it up myself in the menu

i'm torn on this. I liked the challenge, but sometimes wanted to break a controller at the forced slumps and errors.

Right now the only thing pissing me off is that the outfielders can get TO frickING ANYTHING

I haven't noticed that but I'm guessing I will now when I crank it up this afternoon

Yeah there is a pretty noticeable difference between veteran and All-Star. I think I'm going to restart my guy and stick with Veteran because I don't want to be buying a new PS4 controller anytime soon

I usually just just do "lead runner only", and will steal steal steal. One thing I hate is that if I increase my lead at all the pitcher immediately throws back to the bag.

And yeah, I'm not a fan of goals being gone. I liked having a framework of where to dole out my points early in my career. Plus there was always the excitement of coming up to the end of a goal deadline and wondering if you were finally being called up or not.
