Been in the Dallas area all weekend and went through several toll roads. Will they send me an invoice in the mail? And what happens if I decide not pay the $2.00 ?

I've never had a toll mailed to me and I've done it a few times. I went through with my vehicle, then signed up for the tag the next month and gave them my plate number. They didn't have anything come up to charge me for previous times going through before I got the tag.

Yes, they will mail you a bill. If you don't pay it goes to collections.
Keep proof that you paid and don't throw it away. Those greedy fricks will try to bill you multiple times after you have paid it.

Being from Louisiana and not traveling to the Dallas area alot, I don't want a toll pass. I figured to cameras would take a pic of my tags and mail me an invoice of my fees

I only got the tag because I recently moved here. Travelled for months prior without it. Didn't do it much, but was late for a meeting once or twice Nd jumped on the tollway. I was just saying they never mailed me anything and when I gave my license number, they didn't pop up with "you owe us this much from those other times you went through". I think (dont know for sure) that they hit up serial offenders. Not trying to get someone who may have "accidentally" went through one or to tolls.

I went through a couple in Houston on accident when I got my windsheild replaced and didn't get a new toll tag. They sent me a bill wound up costing me about $75.

What a glorious victory that was.
Now if only they would tear down the toll plaza. That's awkward as hell to drive through

don't know all of the rules but the new "express" lanes aren't supposed to generate a bill until the fifth use during a specified time to allow for transient use, the designated tollways also have a minimum amount to be generated before billing, but
pay the bill cheapskate!!

In parts of Florida, the toll is like $1 - $2. But, the processing fee is like $2. I laughed when I got my first one in the mail.

I have gone through the toll plazas in Chicago a few times and never got a bill.

They aren't all pay by mail ready. If you blow through the Sam Houston in Houston you get a fine, I think they let a license plate go 2 times before fining you to allow everyone a mistake or two. But they have actual attended toll booths where you can pay cash if you don't have a toll tag. Sounds like you jumped in the ez tag lane one to many times and thus, generated a fine.
Most of the unattended ones offer a pay by mail option if you don't have a tag. The toll is usually 1-2$ per toll station you pass through. No big deal.

NTTA/ETCC will mail you a bill for the toll amounts to the address your vehicle is registered to. If you aren't living at this address, call NTTA as soon as possible.
Each unpaid toll accrues a fine. First fine is $15.00. Second and final fine is $20.00. On a $1.00 toll it could end up being $36.00. That is PER toll. After a 60 day total passage of time, unpaid tolls are sent immediately to collections.
You cannot send in cash. Don't make that mistake. Best best is to call and pay w debit card. Simply give them your license plate number.

I drove to the Woodlands a couple of years ago and on the way back I drove through several stretches of toll roads specifically designed for residents with the EZ Tags. There wasn't even an option to pull off and pay and I didn't realize they were toll roads until it was too late.

They mail it to the address at which the car is registered, regardless of state, and if you don't pay it they assess late fees and will hound you until you pay it. You DO NOT want it going to collections and the late fees are substantial. I think you can go on NTTA website and search for your license plate number?

The toll is not a traditional toll in that there isn't a booth where you have the option to pay immediately. They send a bill to your home. I don't think the OP is being cheap, just didn't know if it mattered if he paid it.
