Artificial limits on employee salaries, limits on employee movement and even conscription via the "draft" system. It's an afront to the free market and completely un-American. Yet it's not only accepted it's championed by many. Why?

Too broad of a question. All sports in America have different labor laws. Troll invalid.

Just imagine graduating from LSU in engineering and some random guy walks up to you and says "Congratulations, you're now an engineer in Toldeo, Ohio! You have no say in the matter and if you refuse you don't get to be an engineer anywhere. Lots of luck flipping burgers!"

I just want a college football player to not sign up for the draft, wait a while then sign with their hometown team

all of them operate under the same basic structure. Some are just worse for their employees than others.

Hes does have a point

Why should the Dallas Cowboys have artificial limits placed on them so the Jacksonville Jaguars can compete better.

Jerry Jones should have the right to throw more money down the toilet.

Are you afraid your Spurs wont be able to complete with the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks?

Because Jerry Jones agreed to it.

Because collusion is great for capital. Not so great for labor and the consumer, though.

Just to appease the troll:

It's a limited market. There's not much market out there for someone who can throw a football in a garbage can from 60 yards. The NFL pays some guys who can a fair wage. If you can't make it. I hope you developed other skills

Exactly. OP is either a troll or an idiot. Owners have the power to set up the rules how they want for their organization. That's as captitalistic as can be.

Wrong. The NFL is the company. Dallas is the manager.

Still don't understand Congress's role in the nfl but that's too deep for tonight

It's not a troll at all. It is an inherently anti-free market system, is it not?

that doesn't matter.

"limited" is relative anyway. Strictly speaking, being a lawyer is a limited market too, yet nobody told me I had to ply my trade in Green Bay or nowhere at all regardless of how i felt about it. Nor did they say that all the old lawyers got together and decided that no new lawyers would be allowed to make over X amount of money.

Wrong, the NFL is a non-profit and pays no taxes. Dallas is the company.

Your basic premise that monopoly and socialism go hand and hand is wrong.
