How do you put magic on your weapons?

Stones are found randomly, and you can buy 3 boltstones (lightning) from the blue sentinal leader in the cathedral of blue.

Then you have to get the dull ember. Pretty sure you can only get that after you beat the pursuer. It's in a chest in the next area.

Give it to the blacksmith in the lost bastille, and he will enchant the weapon of your choice with whatever stone you choose. It seems that the stones take away from the overall physical damage of the weapon, but the elemental bonus far exceeds that loss. It also seemed that some stones fit certain weapons better than others in terms of the allocated bonus.

No, only one element per weapon.

Is there a Strategy guide for this game that I could buy? I've searched google but all I seem to find are walk through guides.

I'm sure there is. I find old material on gaming message boards can get you most answers if you're stuck.

Here's "100 tips" from another board...

I've given up on this swordsman character.
I made that mistake, too. I wanted a DEX build so I naturally chose it, but for frick's sake you're so squishy early. I basically played like a bitch until I got a high enough soul level to balance everything out. That beginning was worse than anything in the first Dark Souls outside of MAYBE the Kappra Demon. Now I'm wrecking shop in Alva armor with Blacksteel Katanas. Haven't done much boss clearing though. Basically just did enough to get to where I could farm for my katana drops. I think I've only cleared 5 bosses so far. I'm only just now getting to the point where I can afford to be a bit more aggressive with the S DEX scaling with the Katanas. Hella dps.

I had been able to keep my rage under control until now. Iron Keep is the place that produced my first rage quit. fricking archers EVERYWHERE.

Ah yes. For melee builds, the iron keep is truly a pain.

There is a strategy guide for that Ps3/xbox360 version. I wouldn't think it is to much different.

Sounds like Harvest Valley. I didn't even bother going down into the holes with all of the poison. I pretty much said frick it and kept moving on.

There are some items down there, but nothing too special iirc. I'm on ng+ and with a poisonbite +1 I'm able to run around in the poison for a bit before the meter fills up.
