Jalen Collins - 2nd - 3rd

My guess is because of the recent surgery he is having (can't remember which extremity). Nothing major, but teams will look at it as a risk. I still think he goes higher than that

He has everything athletically but he lacks starter experience and does not have great technique. A guy who was mostly a situational player throughout his career going in the second or third round coming off surgery is still remarkable and speaks well of his potential.

Interesting if that happens since at the combine he was a "lock" for the first.

It was minor surgery and he'll be ready for rookie camp. Doubt he lasts past the top 50 picks.

Also, Shea submitted the post, but that analysis was done by CBS Sports writers. In Jalen's case, a guy named Brandon Thorn.

He was ranked by them as the 72nd overall prospect. There are 32 picks per round, which mathematically, would put him in the 3rd round. I do understand the draft does not follow that particular order, but I'm just going off of what they put.

I also don't think he is available after the first 50 picks.

The #Eagles are hosting LSU cornerback Jalen Collins right now at NovaCare, per league source. Collins is potential 1st rounder. Scheme fit.

-----------

Collins is a projected first-round pick and a few mock drafts have him going to the Eagles at No. 20. He's considered one of the top cornerback prospects in the draft

He is in a very shallow CB class with a good off the field record and incredible measurables

If he gets out of the first, he won't last long in the 2nd

I think some are scared off by the injury and now watching film of him and seeing he doesn't have elite technique to be a starter.

Yep, but NFL teams want to best player they can find at the lowest salary.

Why was he that high to start? Watching him actually play the last few years, instead of him running around in tights, 2-3rd seems right. That's not a dig, that's still high. Not like they're saying he goes undrafted.

Very weak class for corners. Teams will reach based on need and the fact that he won't be available when they should take him. He's a 1st-2nd rd CB THIS YEAR alone.

That's actually a more realistic range for him, late 2nd early 3rd but has a lot of upside.

And he dropped due to a combination of things.... The surgery, other players stock improving like Kevin Johnson and Byron Jones. And the NFL guys do way more homework on pkayets than the Mel Kipers of the World. And Jalen Collins never played like a 1st rd CB for us. He had moments where he showed that potential and ability, but then he had moments where he showed the complete opposite. And considering he never was a CB1 for us and only started 10 games, mainly due to RR suspension, there are a lot of questions about him on the field and there's not a lot of film that shows him playing at a high level.

He's viewed as a high potential player but will take him a few years before he reached that level. He will figure it out though and when he does he will be a good NFL CB.

It has nothing to do with surgery. Jalen Collins is not first round material. Two years ago the majority on this board were saying he was dog shite, and I was saying he'll be a mid-round draft choice and will make it in the NFL. Two years later the majority on here are saying first rounder, and I'm saying second round at the highest.

I think 247 probably has it right - mid second to mid third.

Too raw to be a first rounder. Isn't very strong in press coverage and has very little exp as a starter also has trouble vs small quick wrs.
