One source said "with either Butch Pierre or Glynn Cyprien joining the staff we could have one of the best or if not the best recruiting staffs in the country"

That's what we need. Better recruiting, not an Xs and Os guy

Butch Pierre is a good, defensive minded coach.

defense wasn't the problem. No offensive system is the problem.

We were 3rd in the SEC in scoring this season. Almost 74 pts/game.

We also were a good defensive team. If you look at effenciency ratings, the offensive didn't do well there.

how about that free throw shooting?

when I did a google on LSU free throw shooting this is what came up: LINK

LSU season percentage .669 (not in top 50)

LSU not in the top 50 in assist to turnover ratio, even though LSU is in the top 25 in assists. Lots of turnovers.

someone posted on TD before the SECt that coaches should not have to teach free throw shooting, that there is not enough time for that. LSU was 3-12 FT with the game on the line vs NC St.

Didn't say it did but our scoring wasn't the biggest area of need this year.

Our pick-and-roll defense was atrocious. It was like we hadn't coached/practiced it all. Guys had no idea what they were doing.

Playing D and getting out in transition is how the team will excel. Also both Blakeney and Ben have the skill set to be productive in isolation plays.

again offense and scoring aren't the same thing.

The last 2 games were the microcosm of the season. When LSU needed a bucket they had nothing to run, no sets, no movement not even a high PnR. It was five guys standing around.

The defense was sweet 16 level good, the offense was non tourney bad.

I just looked at the play where Mickey missed the open layup with 13 secs left. This part of your post literally couldnt be more wrong.
