I was scouting out some new areas yesterday and I found a spot that's in the right area I want to hunt. The only problem is that there's too much vegetation and I don't see any real open water. In my experience the ducks don't want to land in the weeds (even though they'll swim into them).

Do you guys think they'd land here? Any recommendations on how to clear out a spot big enough for the ducks?

Looks like salvinia. We had it in our pond, had to drain it, spray some kind of weed killer on it over several months, then spray whenever there is a hint of it coming back. Good luck

Spray it, you don't have to drain it.

I'm on my phone so I can't really tell what it is. Might be salvinia might be fruschete.

Some type of Paraquat or Diquat should knock either out.

Roundup will kick the shite out of that....just be sure not to use any chemical unless it specifies that application on the label

That look like "fourchette" to me. Salvinia is a clover looking plant that floats on the water. The surface of the water looks clear to me, just a stemmed plant coming up above the surface.

Judging by your post history you are most likely on public land, not that I give a sheet about if you spray but watch for the opossum cops
