What are the companies that have the best reputation?

It seems almost all of the IT folks I used to work with in BR are now working with Sparkhound and BCBS.

BCBS has recently turned over all their C Level People and is shaky at the top. Sparkhound recently hired Patrick Thomas as COO who came from Shaw and burned through Amedisys in a very short stay.

With that said I would have to ask you what your current job motivators are. You looking to use the most recent technology and have a challenging job or are you only concerned with the pay?

Also, what kind of company..One that consults out to others, or an in house IS staff..

Patrick Thompson. You seem to know a decent amount about the BR Healthcare IT sector...I'm wondering if I know you. lol

Mostly just making conversation. I've known a few people who have worked at sparkhound, none seems to have much good to say.
I seem to notice a same certain few it companies who are always advertising job openings. I was just curious if there was any business in town that was universally known as being a good job in the it community.

Well, I worked consulting for a small firm in BR for a few years..I was at the mercy of hundreds of different "bosses"..You imagine that the users on sites don't have an IT dept, because they can't afford one/don't see the need for them..

I now work for a worldwide corporation as one of 100 or so IS leads...I have One person above me, there is a CIO above him, and neither are within a few thousand miles of me..I essentially make my own hours, do my own thing, and am responsible for 200 local users and a few hundred based on my "specialty" within the corporation...

TL;DR, I don't know that you will ever hear of a "great" consulting job because they suck, and you will never hear of a "great" corporate job because I don't want competition for my position

CMO as well who is/was also Executive VP of External Operations. And I'm sure as far as this board is concerned the CIO and the reasons that exit occurred would have the most bearing.

I work for a relatively small local BR company as the IT manager. There are still a few of those around, and are great to work for IMO.

yes, this is very important to know to answer your question properly

The question of consulting vs corporate is really personal preferences.

More than likely, you'll make 10-15% more in corporate settings, but the projects won't be as interesting, and the technology won't be as updated.

I did consulting for 6 years in BR and have been in corporate for 8+ years.
