I'm just not interested in the merry go round cash suckin douchebag infested world of kids organized sports.

I'll be happy to let them play but we won't have teams or uniforms or what not...just go outo to the sand lot and play pickup games. This is way better for the vast majority of kids and way more fun.

I played a shite-ton of sandlot ball back in the day.

If I had been in organized sports, I'd have probably gone pro.

In something other than sports.

Your boy will never make it to the Majors without a solid travel ball foundation, baw.

Kids play pickup games? I can't see that happening often in today's world.

You're not going to have a giant baseball sticker with your son's name and # on your car then.

You're retarded.

My son just started his 3rd season of baseball. Pick a city/parish league and sign up. Besides registration and some basic equipment, it's not expensive. My son has same bat and helmet for 3rd year in a row now. Registration was like $60 and covers the whole season. $25 cleats and $20 pants and $10 belt.
Not every organized league is like travel ball or some shite where they pay every tournament.

You're a tard.

This. Maybe in basketball you can go down to a nearby court and find some pickup games, but other sports not so much.

The problem is they can't start playing sandlot ball without supervision until they're like 12 years old because CPS.

you can't force "sandlot" ball. Then it just becomes a lame version of an organized league

The lot I used to play on is still there, in suburban Houston. I just looked on Google Earth... in one of the archived versions there is even a home plate. Good for the kids that live there now.

Thanks for the nostalgic gut punch. I remember playing baseball, football, dirt clod wars, BB gun wars, smear the queer, and any random arse shite we could come up with in an empty lot. Childhood was the titties.

Where is your kid going to find 17 other kids who all want to play baseball at the same time on a regular basis.

Basketball or tennis is about the only sport where you can meet just meet an play pickup.

Football and baseball require too many people.

If he wants to play baseball you're going to have to pay for him to be surrounded by douchebaggery.

Basketball is the most common pick up sport for kids. Nobody plays pick up baseball.

eta: and what's wrong with the local rec league? they typically aren't that douchey or expensive.
