Agreed with all of that and I support any program that promotes nutritional guidance/education.

I just got back from Disney with the kids and the amount of fatties gnawing on turkey legs was crazy.

I like the turkey legs. I'm the opposite of fat though.

I too like turkey legs. I just don't wander around in public while chowing down on one. Even dogs stand still to eat.

You gave up your membership because of people walking around a store, not because of the aforementioned unhealthy, processed crap in that store?

You have a way of making your interest in national health and nutrition make you sound like an total arsehole.

That's, like, really hard to accomplish when talking about decreasing obesity in the U.S. Congratulations.

The turkey legs are actually one of the only things that really stands out in my mind from my childhood trip to Disney.

While I don't like turkey legs, nor would I eat one in public, that food item will not make one fat. It is pretty much protein.

Because I'm honest? Look, some people's eyes are mortally offended by sagging pants. They avoid establishments where such sartorial choices are common. They work to pass laws banning saggy pants. Others loathe tattoos and won't hire based on body art or piercings. Still others judge those with untraditional hair colors, or those who drink in public during the middle of the day when others are working.

Humans as a species are perpetually judging each other. You've judged me and applied an impolite word, so we might be even on that score. The comment was tongue in cheek. We as a country keep getting fatter and fatter. Any trip outside the country will leave you shocked upon return at our fatness, especially among the young. We are so surrounded by it (especially in the deep south), we have become immune to its ubiquity. We are deeply, seriously, dangerously fat. Hell, I'm not skinny myself; my BMI is at the very upper edge of normal. Yet I live in a place so fat, I'm seen as svelte (though I'm a porker in Paris or Rome).

Seriously? We don't have Sam's club in Portland, but we have 8 Costcos. Same thing. I don't pay attention to what anybody else gets. I really don't care.

While I understand your larger point, dogs are quadrupeds and lack thumbs. My dog would definitely walk around eating a turkey leg if she was able to do so.

I guess I'm a fatty. I love the turkey leg.

Last time we went I had one and a French woman besides us was at awe over it.
