At this point he's guaranteed a ton of money. Bet Duke big on Saturday.

He's friends with the owner of the Nugget. He owns two hotels out there. Apparently the Nugget is pissed they could take a million dollar hit.

So he is spending $20,000 for the bet and gets paid 1M if MSU wins? If he is loaded, not bad odds for the return. I mean some people will spend $10,000 for a trip to the final four. I have never bet on sporting events.

But he made this bet before he knew Michigan State was in the final four.

They weren't supposed to be great this year. He was basically betting on Tom Izzo.

best in the bizz

no matter who he loses, he gets his kids to buy in and they play their asses off for him.

When he placed that bet, Mich St was 5-3 with wins over Navy, Loyola (IL), Santa Clara, Rider, and Marquette and losses to Duke, Kansas and Notre Dame.

As much as I would like to see Sparty win, I think Duke takes them down. Hedge like a mad man.

They lost three very good college players (Appling, Harris, Payne) from last season, and had like the 50th ranked recruiting class this year.

And they're in the Final Four. It's pretty remarkable.

Helps Michigan State forget the choke job against Connecticut a year ago. That Spartan team was absolutely loaded. They should have won it all. I don't care if they were a 4 seed. I think in a best-of-5 series, they would have beaten anyone at the end of last season.
