Yeah, that's fine as well.
Just get him up well above BFE. I never understood people building to minimum when you freakin know you're in a flood zone.

Look, I think this still isn't correct.
Assuming the BFE is 11' (A10)and your lot is at 10'. you can't bring in fill to make it 12' (C).
This is in STP.
Now if your lot is already above BFE, you can certainly add more fill to make it less flood prone. I did that.

We will be looking at a flood zone issue as well when we build our next home. The front yard of our property where our home will be built is not in a flood zone. The area our home will be built is in the current marked flood zone. We will be building up the future home site pad one to two feet above the road elevation, then our new home will be built on piers three feet above the pad. Once we are done we will be applying for a Loma.

You likely either played basketball at my house or paintball in the swamp with us or fished the causeway with us if you lived anywhere within a 5-10 mile radius of my house and were in your teens from 2000 ish on

I did play some paintball with some kids in the old Prestrest (sp) abandoned lot where they made the causeway by sunset point and couple times. You are a couple years younger than I am.

I've built houses with post tension slabs before, never anything on pilings. What kind of cost would I roughly be looking at? House is approx 2000 sf 1st raised floor.
I figured I would do a slab on grade with house on blocks/concrete columns.
I want a garage, bathroom and large kids playroom/walkout on slab.
