Raheem Sterling will not discuss his future at Liverpool until the end of the season, according to Sky sources.

A source close to the England forward says any talks over a new deal are on hold until the summer but insists the 20-year-old remains '100 per cent committed to the club'.

Sterling's contract runs out at the end of next season and earlier this month, manager Brendan Rodgers said Anfield would be the best place for the Jamaica-born winger to further his career.

also rumors going around he has been offered 180k a week and still won't put pen to paper

Just sell him to City and get it over with

Ridiculous.

They do need some Brits, especially with Milner likely leaving.

A couple of weeks ago Liverpool tabled what manager Brendan Rodgers described as an "incredible" offer - reported to be in the region of £100,000 a week - to keep England forward Raheem Sterling at Anfield.

Despite Rodgers' bullishness, numerous reports claimed that Liverpool's offer is "nowhere near" matching what Sterling wants - and adding that the 20-year-old has now refused to take part in any more negotiations until the end of the season.

Rodgers had suggested an agreement was imminent but latest reports suggest there has been a worsening in negotiations: talks with Sterling are said to have hit another snag, and it is understood that even if Liverpool offer £180,000 a week he will not sign. £180,000 equates to £9m a year - half as much again as Barcelona pay Neymar.

Sterling only signed an improved contract in December 2012 and his current deal does not expire until 2017.

Yea he didn't completely dominate the England game or anything.

He's not worth 180K a week but he is up there with Kane as the best young talent in England. And his ceiling is a few levels higher than Kane.

I think the media is spinning this into nonsense. Hopefully he truly just wants to put his head down and finish the deal in the summer.

I mean I wouldn't say no if City decided to splurge.

This makes no sense. He's talented, but not worth 180k

He's not getting 180k from anyone else. I doubt even City is that stupid. Apparently they're not even paying Silva that much.

We lose Glen Johnson and Gerrard off the wage bill this year. We'll have plenty of money to spend.

I read this last night and highly doubt the validity of this story.. I'm sure there is some "smoke" but I'd very seriously doubt that we offered him that much money... I mean, it was just reported he turned down 80k/wk (or maybe it was 100k)..

He is definitely someone I want to keep and way more than just a track star, but I'd def listen to the right offer if I was in charge...

I don't think LFC can afford to let him leave. Young, talented, English and it would make two summers in a row they lost their most valuable commodity. Not going to attract elite talent with no CL and the reputation as a seller club.

Liverpool came out and said they aren't selling him this summer even if he refuses to sign the contract.

Which basically forces their hand. The longer Sterling draws this out the more likely it is he will get what he wants. City need English players, and I think they will target Sterling hard. Arsenal might be interested if Walcott holds out, and Sterling has the stamina to play in Mourinho's system, especially if he starts making more forward runs rather than having the ball at his feet.

However, Sterling, who has been linked with a number of Europe's leading clubs, is keen to put his future to one side for the time being.

He told BBC Sport: "I just want to focus on football and, when it gets to the end of the season, assess my position as a 20-year-old player playing in the Premier League.

"I keep hearing I've rejected all sorts of contracts. Me, the club and my reps have spoken about it and put talks on hold until the end of the season, so it's frustrating to hear the contract situation keep going on and on.

"I don't want to be perceived as a money-grabbing 20-year-old. I just want to be seen as a kid that loves to play football.

"Money is not everything in my life. I've got family, a daughter - these people mean everything to me.

"I think anyone around me can vouch for me that it has never been about money.

"It is about winning trophies throughout your career; I don't talk about how many cars I will drive or how many houses I've got.

"It is flattering to get a huge contract (offer). I just purely want to be the best I can be.

The irony of that interview is absurd.

He turned down 100k a week. It's been confirmed.

Also excellent timing right before the Arsenal game.
