Thanks for all the positive comments. They were nowhere to be found in the 1970's

I wonder who down vote. Show yourself

Probably douches that complain about things being on "the right board" instead of just requesting the admins to have it moved to what would be the correct board.

To the OP, thanks for posting and I hope one day this nation officially apologizes to its Veterans who went to fight this war even though most of them didn't want to.

Thank you for your service to this country. Freedom is not free. My father was drafted in the war into the army as an infantryman. To this day, he still does not talk much about it.

To me these are real Patriots, they did not volunteer, their Country literally called, they did not run to Canada, they may have even not been in favor of the war, some were highly educated, yet they stood their ground, did not run to the National Guard or some other hide out place, real men, real principles, real Patriots. Tell your Dad I have the ultimate respect for him and I greatly appreciate his service to our Country.

And the post I complain about people

This is not Russia or Iraq or Afghanistan or Somalia or hundred other places like them. We fought for those folks to disagree, to say they do not think we should have gone.

If they are the scum bags who are disrespectful to our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, woe be to them and theirs.

Vietnam Vets were my heroes growing up. Still are. A big reason I joined up when I got old enough. Thank you for your service. God Bless!

Thank you for remembering the veteran's of Vietnam.

My father did two tours (flew 200 missions) in the F-4 Phantom with the 497th Night Owls flying missions over North Hanoi.

My Uncle Willie did three tours but was KIA on his 294th mission, just six missions shy of 300 and coming home.

RIP

Father was a Vietnam Vet. USN Seabee (aka Marine with a trade).

69-70. Chu Lai/Da Nang/LZ Baldy/LZ or FSB Ross.

He was able to talk about it...I'm glad to have the history.

Went in USN Seabee SW...Went out a Marine 0369/8411.
