Rental Car Question

I rented a vehicle last Friday and will return Wednesday once I get back in town. When I start the car there is a warning on the dash board that states I have XXX number of starts left .. Like a dumbass I have been ignoring that warning but now it says that I only have one start left.. The rental place is closed today so I can't talk to anybody ..

Anybody knows how a rental company would handle this if I get stuck and the vehicle won't start?

Call an 800 number for the company and maybe they can do something? Or try not to drive it until tomorrow at least

Enterprise .. It's nothing that the rental place did its an issue with the vehicle but there is no mannuel in the glove box so I have no clue why the vehicle is giving me this warning.

Drive it to Mexico, leave it, then tell them it wouldn't start.

Seriously though, that's the first time I've ever heard of that... I don't know how that can be a good policy.

I guess don't drive it till they're open.

not sure what that has to do with anything but those type of lock out/shut down systems are usually controlled by something similar to onstar, I would get on the horn to enterprise, they would probably have to OK the reset

Only thing I'm seeing about Mercedes and a xxx starts left message relate to diesel exhaust fluid.

Enterprise specializes in renting older, dirtier cars. Then they need a ride back to office after they "pick you up".

They are a PITA.

They pick you up, they don't promise to bring you a car and leave it.

Mercedes' new BlueTEC diesels will not start if urea runs out

If it's a diesel add some DEF

If it's not, idk.

Good luck.

Enterprise is never closed. Maybe the office you rented from is, but not customer support.

When they started out years ago they did deliver the cars. The guy towed a VW bug behind the rental, unhitched it after you signed the papers, and drove off to pick up a car from another renter and deliver that one to the next renter. That's why the cars were almost always dirty.
