SOG Zoom

I've got 1 of most of the knives mentioned so far. Just got a zoom and a zoom mini and they beat pretty much all the others.

Does it have a lock?

ETA: best reviews of any that are full metal w/o Benchmade price tag as far as I can tell. Prob gonna grab the 3.5" model

yes it does have a lock. it's right above the blade lock button. that was the the first thing that led me to this one, the aluminum body. it's supposedly the civilian version of the SOG auto tac

Does anyone know Louisiana's laws for carrying assisted openers? I never bought one because I never figured out of they were legal or not to carry.

My rule of thumb is if they sell it at Walmarks, it's good to go.

SOG Flash II I have it, it's a little large for my liking and I'm not crazy about spring assisted knives, but I got it as a gift, and I'll carry it until I inevitably lose it.

SOG Flash I-a smaller version of the Flash II.

Light, relatively inexpensive (I lose knives), and sharp as hell.

ETA: I used to carry a Benchmades, and loved them, but not the price tag when I lost them.

Same as carrying a non-assisted folding knife.

Really, Benchmade with an Axis-lock, SOG with an Arc-lock, or a Spyderco Ball-lock will all offer the same deployment speed and even quicker when putting the blade away.

Had a Kershaw scallion with a serrated blade, but I picked up the Cyro in blackwash a few months ago. This knife is GREAT - sharpens easily, and slightly larger than the scallion.
The black wash finish gives it an already worn in look.

I'm a lefty, so the 4 way clip mount was a great bonus. I can now carry it tip up in my left pocket.

Not really. It's not like it makes my pants sag. It is heavier than most other knives I've owned but it's not noticeable.

For the money, kershaws are hard to beat.

LINK

I use this knife more than any other knife I own. Goes everywhere with me.

That's what works fastest for me. When I pull the knife out, my index finger is already on the speed assist bump.

Currently between Cryo II (Tanto) all black and the SOG Zoom (modified drop point) all black...

Anybody with experience with both that would want to weigh in would be especially appreciated, considering we'll be ordering online and I won't get to handle either before reaching a decision

Girlfriend is buying as a gift and said price isn't an issue (but I won't put the $200 bill for a Benchmade on her...)

3.4-3.6"
With locking mechanism are pretty much only requirements.

Any final input? She's ordering tomorrow AM.

Thanks again, gentlemen

What's the difference in the Brawler and the Cryo II? Not seeing them

ETA: brawler 3" and Cryo 3+"? I think that's it, clarification appreciated.

I'd only want the larger of the two (Cryo II) if that's the case
