They played basically a flawless offensive game. They played the best they could ever dream of playing, and lost.

My heart is hurting for them.

Attempting some defense on KAT in crunch time would've been nice.

I can't imagine how pissed off some of the ND players must be with Grant. He basically played 1 on 5 for the last 3 possessions.

Did you happen to watch the LSU/NCState game in the opening round?

LSU did the exact same thing against Kentucky.

Both had a very small lead against them by performing their offense. Then the last 3 minutes hit, and what do they do?

They hold the ball at mid-court for 25 seconds, then scramble to do something.

Final 3 minutes:

3-pter by Grant (made at shot clock buzzer)
Jumper by Grant (missed with less than 5 left on shot clock)
3-pter by Grant (missed/blocked with 3 left on shot clock)
3-pter by Grant (missed at buzzer)

Teams suddenly think that a 2-3 point lead with a few minutes left in the game is a safe lead, and they just bleed clock. They had zero good possessions, and made one lucky shot.

Half my family lives in CHI. My cousin went to ND. Won't be calling them tonight.

That's so common in basketball. They don't want to risk the turnover. Sort of the inverse of the prevent defense with similar results.
