I really wanted to just walk around downtown yesterday, but didn't because I was hungover and aggravated by the bums.

Had a good time though, even when this hipster chick tried throwing her drink at me for using a "racist" term that I use all of the time here. Honestly, the bums would be the only thing holding me back from sightseeing the area

I went to a concert Wednesday night in midtown, but stayed downtown. There are bums damn dear everywhere. They aren't the bums like I'm used to in New Orleans who generally leave me alone. Every single one of them walked straight up and asked for money. Then, they get all pissy when I say, "No, I'm not giving you any money".

I live in Midtown. The amount of bums is insane, and they're aggressive.

It is out of control

They are nothing compared to the bums in front of the State Street/Highland Rd. Circle K after Katrina moved the bum
population of New Orleans to Baton Rouge.

Houston is way worse, and they are everywhere in every part of town.

Downtown Atlanta bums > Downtown Houston bums.

All of the Atlanta bums told me the history of the area, etc before asking for money. You don't even need a tour guide, just grab the nearest bum.

There is an underpass camp very close to downtown, under the pierce elevated. You'll have to wait until the next super bowl in Houston before they run them off again.

Reminds me of "tent city" documentary I watched on Netflix.

Yup, they were even swarming in the middle of the day everywhere downtown. Valet guy told me they call the cops on them all of the time for harassing people and trying to pass out against the buildings.

I don't remember seeing many cops though. They are pretty thick in New Orleans, but I saw maybe 3 in my 10 hours of daylight there. It was odd

Yall haven't had any times where the city gov just comes through and cleans house?

Houston has more bums than any city I've seen.

Had a bum a few weeks ago in Houston knock and scratch on my driver's side window trying to get me to roll it down. I told him no. In some reverse psychology trick he then tried to give me a buck.

Panhandlers are everywhere in Houston. The ones that are especially annoying are the teams that cover all 4 corners of an intersection and look all "official" in their worker orange/yellow vests and cups with some shite written on it.
I guess some people think they're soliciting money for a school/K of C/Shriners, etc.

These new bums are the Oil/Gas employees of yesteryear after massive layoffs.
