I think having a live tiger waiting for our opponents as they enter our stadium strikes fear in their hearts.

Johnny Football is coming to Death Valley, where one of college football's most imposing traditions awaits the SEC's most exciting player.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel makes what is expected to be his one and only visit to LSU's Tiger Stadium on Saturday in a game nationally televised by CBS. A big performance against the Tigers would surely boost Manziel's chances of winning a second consecutive Heisman Trophy, but he'll have to conquer one of the game's great home-field advantages. For opponents, perhaps there is no better symbol of the intimidation factor at LSU than the school's live tiger mascot, Mike.

And for those saying, "Don't force Mike into the cage if he doesn't want to go..." How do you think they get him into the cage to go to the vet school for dental work, checkups, and even to show him off for prospective vet school students??? The fact is, some assclown decided not to load Mike for the games anymore. Probably this Baker guy. They know at 9:30 AM that Mike doesn't want to get in his cage for the game 8 hours later????

These clowns don't realize that they load Mike into that travel cage all the time throughout the year. The vets get him into the cage when they want him in there.

I'm certain that to 20, 25, and 30 year olds have no connection to mike. But what about the 30, 35, and 40 year olds with young kids? We have find memories of seeing Mike at the games and want our kids to have the same satisfaction.

The level of ignorance is strong in this thread.

As a kid it was epic when Mike roared into the mic. I wish that tradition would have continued

DIGNITY!?!

You want a living animal to be forced into a cage and experience something that causes it emotional distress because you like it. Thats the only reason.

If Mike liked doing it, or didnt mind doing it that would be one thing. But there is no benefit to making him doing it. You just like it. Thats selfish as frick.

I certainly enjoyed it as a kid. These young bucks don't know what it was like hearing that big bastard shaking the stadium when he roared into the mic. Still get goose bumps

I laugh at comments like this! Out of all the Tigers we have had this is the worst one. I don't blame him I blame the trainers. The other cats loved game day and were in no way distressed. His cage is phenomenal. These cats have a better life than most people

Why even have him on campus if you feel that way about it? Go release him into the jungles of SE Asia. Why parade him around in a habitat?

I'll tell you why, he's a stinking mascot. He's on that campus for one reason only, we are the LSU Tigers. We have a live tiger mascot to entertain the fans.

I like him being there. It's a tradition as well. So what? I'm of the belief that God gave man dominion over animals. Email sent.

Did PETA tell you to say that? Show me the results from the stress test Mike VI took before and after going into tiger stadium.

Tradition, Atmosphere, Striking Fear into the Hearts of our opponents, being unique, being motherfrickin badasses. You don't see the benefit to being a badass?

Call me selfish all you want. I want that motherfrickin cat in that motherfrickin stadium.

I just think its funny that youve somehow contorted it in your mind that your desire to have the cat in the stadium is "dignified".

Believe it or not im actually pretty indifferent on this, but c'mon man.
