I'll have a couple of days to spend there on business next week and don't remember much discussion.

Buddies has great steaks
Trey Yuen has decent Chinese food
Roux&Brew in Ponchatoula has excellent food
Charlie's in Springfield has great seafood
Then there's always the usual
Don's, Middendorf's

ETA: Try out Tomny's Pizza downtown and make sure to get the sweet sauce

Tommy's

If you want pizza, this is definitely the best you'll ever eat. Never had any other that has even come close to being as good.

Buddies and The Steakhouse both have very good steaks for reasonable prices as well.

What is so special about Middendorf's? I had it and it was nothing special. Got the fried seafood platter to try everything. The fried shrimp were...fried shrimp. The stuffed crab was 99% breading and dry as could be. The thin fried catfish that it seems to be famous for was so thin all you tasted was the batter. I liked it but I could just fry up some batter and it would taste the same. After that trip I knew I never needed to drive to the middle of nowhere for that again.

I ate at a good steak restaurant there. I keep forgetting the name of it, but in a recent thread on Hammond, I believe someone said it was still very good. Mac and cheese there was really good. Chargrilled oysters were pretty good, too.

Has slipped the recent times I have been, Tope La is the best in Hammond at the moment. Steakhouse is pretty legit too. I would choose both over Jacmel.

Jacmel, Tope La, Bradys, Mariners, Steak House, Cate St. are all solid.

Call Ryan's Deli and order a sandwich for lunch. It is a gas station, but has awesome sandwiches.

Tommy's is the best local pizza you will find. Plus there's always hot girls in there.
La Carreta beats Adobe. Especially in atmosphere and crowd quality
Jacmel is overpriced
Middendorf's is a tourist trap, Charlie's makes damn good seafood!
TNT has good boiled crawfish

Buddies has great steaks - shite food
Trey Yuen has decent Chinese food - Mandeville location is 10x better
Roux&Brew in Ponchatoula has excellent food - I've heard it is ok, with a decent steak.
Charlie's in Springfield has great seafood - Never have had anything good there.
Then there's always the usual
Don's, Middendorf's - Bleh

ETA: Try out Tomny's Pizza downtown and make sure to get the sweet sauce - Good choice

For me

Steak House for steaks of course
Jacmel is pricey but good
Mariner's has a really good overall menu. Everything is actually home cooked, even the bread.
Tope La has a great menu and selection.
La'Caretta's has good margaritas, food is kind of bleh
Smokin Bubs has good BBQ - Sells out every day
Saritas - I actually like their food way more than La'Caretta's. Never had their margaritas though.
Kirin & Cate Street have decent menu's and sushi selections.
Your Mom's has really good burgers - I suggest Jalapeño Ranch Burger

For beer and wine selection - Red, White & Brew.

You must've had a bad experience at Buddies or something....idk

Steak has always been on point every time I've ever been in there.
Sides, appetizers and drinks have been good as well.

I've had multiple bad experiences with buddies. From service to wrong orders to cheap cuts of meat (not on steak night mind you), to overall experiences.
