Do you people think this is anything permanent? They'll be back in 2-3 years and rebuild.
Well, yeah. Even the article says they're eligible to return in 2018.

The student reportedly emailed the Associate Director of Greek Life, Jonathan Sanders, in December 2014. Since then, the student claims he has been threatened and his car was vandalized.
LSU Police confirm that Adam Waldvogel of Metarie was arrested in connection to the allegation of threats.
“[Waldvogel] entered the University Recreational Center (UREC) and walked immediately to the room in which the victim was located,” the arresting officer noted in the probable cause report. “[Waldvogel] entered the room, put his arm around the victim, and began slapping his face. The victim also said that the suspect stated that ‘You [expletive] bad, we're coming for you.'”
Waldvogel was arrested and charged with simple battery and simple assault. He was released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison after posting a $2,000 bond.
Officials say no one else has been arrested in connection to the case, but they are still investigating a second claim regarding vandalism to the victim's car.

Maybe he wasn't beat up that bad.

Frat boys in this thread are so mad. And so desperate to join a fraternity and have their investment of paying for friends work out they're willing to eat another man's puke and dog food.
Look to each his own. My cousin tried to get me to join. I humored him, but in the end it wasn't for me. I kind of see both sides. Frats have done this for as long as they have existed. People used to do it and shut up. If you don't want to go through it don't join. They know what they are getting into.

I'm assuming the other guy was in Acacia, in which case he's a complete moron.
This guy already showed he had no problems dropping a dime on them. Did Waldvogel really think the cops weren't getting involved after that?

Since LSU owns the land they are fricked. If they owned the land and their nationals didn't pull their charter they would be ok. Couldn't participate in campus activities but they could still be an independent private organization.

Does any LSU fraternity even own its land anymore?

Did you even look at what was linked? There isn't ANY Frat houses there in the 2003 Master Plan.
And yet they allowed a sale after that date?

Ah it's mr. Morality who has never ever broken any rule.
Or he is just pointing out that if it was found out that the University turned a blind eye to this and something horrible happened they would be in more legal trouble than they care to deal with.

I thought DKE gave up land ownership a couple years ago.

No one is forcing pledges to join or stay, they can come and go as they please, and they often do.

And before SAE/Wynne, a Theta Xi pledge was killed in 1980 or 1981.
