While it's debatable or not if there is war against fraternities at LSU, the rules were set and agreed to. You break them, you're in trouble. And there must have been big trouble because usually it's just probation.
But it's like the speed limit, you may not like it, but it's what it is. Now, people take risks all the time pushing the envelope, most the of time, they don't get caught, but if you do going 95, then you're going to have to suffer the consequences.
My personal opinion is that in general nationwide, there is a general movement to change the ways frats have historically operated. What used to get winked at, now carries severe penalties. But much of that came out of some kids actually dying, and in many cases, some large judgments.
As far as Greeks at LSU, it has never been a frat-based college. Greeks as a % of total students at LSU is far below the percentage at Ole Miss or Alabama, where Greek life is everything. LSU is too entwined with NOLA, you don't have to be a Greek to have a good time. Just look at spring weekends.
Wormer got his wish.....

I wouldn't quite call it that, but the hammer doesn't come down quite as hard at on Ole Miss or Bama. the political pull at those school's chapters are running the show.
Compared to those two schools, there are way fewer students living on campus at LSU. Combined with all the new "resort" complexes, a lot of activity is happening off campus. I think because of that, the admin is relatively tougher on LSU greeks.
Land grab? Hmm. maybe. TKE is right there too...

Some people take the hazing and such as an abusive behavior that they become afraid of what will happen if they leave. "If they'll treat those of us who want to be here like this, what'll they do to me if I quit?"

Ban all the frats at LSU.

Acacia must not have any money. KA, KE, EX would not have been kicked off for that.

LSU already owns the land. The university leases it to the Greek organizations for some ridiculously low amount like $1 a year. National chapters typically have housing divisions that finance construction of the house through donations and dues.

You can't follow the rules, you can't expect to stay on any campus.
My man.
Frat boys in this thread are so mad. And so desperate to join a fraternity and have their investment of paying for friends work out they're willing to eat another man's puke and dog food.

He might have wanted to stay away from the drugs if he didn't want it to end like it did.

This isn't accurate. 25% of LSU students live on campus, compared to 26% at UA.

Not sure if this is just an unsubstantiated rumor, but I heard that the kid was beat up pretty good and his car was vandalized earlier today near the rec.

I would be shocked if that were true. For one thing, he would recognize and identify the only guys that would care enough to do that.

Do you people think this is anything permanent? They'll be back in 2-3 years and rebuild. I mean, SAE fricking killed someone and came back.
It's not like acacia was singing a n*gger song or anything. THAT is apparently a death sentence.
