Absolutely! Who's going to make Starbucks runs for Coach Jones?

Johnny Jones did not hire him. Johnny Jones did not want him. Johnny Jones did not consult with him. Johnny Jones did not utilize him in any substantive form or fashion.

Alleva brought Musselman in and Johnny Jones worked as hard as he could to ignore his abilities to impact the program. One of the few smart moves he [Alleva] made with that program. Believe what you want, but Musselman was no advantage because the head coach chose not to use him. In any way.
That makes perfect sense and is pretty much what all resonable and realistic Fans & Alums believe.

We have a former NBA coach on the bench and we can't in-bounds the ball, effectively use time-outs, hit critical free throws, nor put away weak teams that have no business staying on the court with the Tigers.

Occams Razor. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. The simplest explanation is what the OP stated!

Good luck to Musselman. So sorry he wasted his time here....

Please explain how you would know that inside information? Of course some people do not have a mental filter and take rampant speculation and then regurgitate it as fact. It would take someone closely connected to the team, with inside knowledge, to be in a position to make such a damning statement about Coach Jones. In other words put up or shut the F up.

It's really irrelevant. What would lead anybody to believe that Johnny did properly use Musselman's abilities? It damn sure never showed in any game this year.

Go take a look at LSU's defensive efficiency ranking from this year and compare it to years 1 and 2 under Jones. There was a HUGE improvement this year. Until the disaster that was the Tenn. game, LSU was a top 20 defensive team. As it is, they still finished 28th (compare to 114 and 63 in the years prior) If you watched Musselman on the sideline, he was most vocal when LSU was on the defensive end. You could also see the communication level between the players on the court vastly improved. Do you think they just decided to do that on their own?

I'll agree that Musselman's impact on the offensive end was probably negligible. LSU continued to have the same issues they've had on that side of the ball since year 1 of the Jones era. But just because the guy wasn't front and center inside the huddle during TOs doesn't mean he had no impact.

Outside of posters saying so on here how in hell would you know one way or the other what Musselman and Johnny's relationship was?

- Musselman has a lengthy resume. If his impact was not tangible, someone should be blamed. Why not Johnny?
- If the coach is not a high profile hire, he/she is not an X&O's coach. Since Johnny was Dale's assistant/player, any failure on his part should be blamed on his coaching ability.
