never used a rocket pot but I've heard good things about them.
I'd replace the bayou classic jet burner, I'm not impressed with that company... things seem cheaply made

There's bigger ones out there.

Just avoid metal fusion/King Kooker.
I've never used the Rocket pot, but with a jet burner, be careful the fast heat doesn't make the seasonings burn to the bottom (an issue with the rocket pot).

They got a store in bell chasse I got my burner at. Stainless steel. Paid 80 for it. Best burner I've ever used

My uncle has one that's about 14" but it's an old rig.
It'll cook the shite out of a 50 gallon jambalaya.

I bought one Saturday and used it. I'm used to a regular 120 quart a d can roll that one in about 12 minutes.

Get it filled completely at a hardware or fruitstand.

My 5 gallon tank w 60psi regulator takes 40 min to boil my 100qt pot... From cold to rollin. Ive considered gettin a double jet or that larger spatula burner.... But didnt due to the size propane bottles I have. The dpuble jets will freeze the 5gal bottles if you dont have enough fuel in them.... I typically boil 3-4 sacks on days I boil, so low bottles get cold fast. Larger propane bottles would solve it... Just havemt gotten there yet.
I like the idea of the multi angled burner ports burners... Have seen them at Goodwood... But likely would just go double jet and bigger bottle if i change.
The rocket pots work, that w a double jet burner, full propane tank, amd double jet burner would have water rollim fast.
You should also take in account, the faster u get the water boilin, the less beer u have to drink while waitin......depending on the circumstance, faster is not always better!

Speaking of which, how long are your hoses from tank to burner?
15-20' is recommend for safety, but I never see that.

Remember the store name?

Amazon sells Bayou Classic stainless steel burners for about that much, iirc.

What matters is mass flow rate if you're just concerned about BTU's. The reason jets are so damned loud is the gas velocity coming out of that one hole is high as giraffe arse. Spread that same flow rate out over 80 orifices and you're making the same BTU's with much lower exit velocities and therefor much less noise while having good distribution.
We can do the math later if you'd like.
No need to do any math if the BTU's would be the same and that's all that mattered, but it isn't. But at lower velocities, there should be a better heat transfer to the pot. That's really where it's at in trying to shorten boil times and why the rocket pot works so well, i.e., because it increases the efficiency of the heat transfer.
If you're only getting about 20% efficiency out of a loud jet burner at 100,000 BTUs and you double the pressure (increasing the noise), it's only going to increase the BTU output of the burner by about 40%, which will, in turn, add 20% of that increase to the BTU's put into the water. For 10 gallons (1/2 full 80qt pot) that boils in 30 minutes, doubling the pressure would theoretically decrease the boiling time by about 6-8 minutes. That's not bad, but the increase of pressure is going to decrease the efficiency also, cutting into any decrease in boiling time.
That's also why increasing pressure on a rig that's not performing well probably isn't the best or least expensive way to increase the amount of heat getting to the water. If you throw enough propane (and money) at the pot, it'll boil faster and eventually it may boil fast enough, but you'd be much better off getting a Rocket Pot or even getting someone to weld fins on the bottom of an aluminum pot.
And, I might add, the hose still has nothing to do with it.

DO NOT get the all inclusive combinations. they suck. the burners do not give off direct heat to the pot. i was so upset with the product that i called, returned it and got my money back. it took over an hour to get the pot boiling.

these are the ones on the new all inclusive. the engineering is flawed. first off they are too low and second they do not hit the pot directly.

Some of this crap is answering questions that aren't even asked.
A decent 20-30 PSI regulator, a single or preferably, double jet burner, a decent pot; that will get it done.
I would only use a rocket pot if I was really doing a lot of back to back boils, say over 100 lbs.

Where are you pulling those numbers? None of that makes sense.
It's all about flow rate. You make more heat by burning more gas. If I'm buring 1 lb/min out of a grease zerk and you're burning 1 lb/min out of a banjo, we are producing the same amount of heat. One will be much louder than the other. Both will heat water at relatively the same rate.
