Test your burner first. Look at my other posts in this thread. I bought the same setup last weekend. Burner took some ingenuity to work good.

I use 30# tanks and never have any issues - for 90-100lbs you should only need 2 boils if you have at least an 80qt pot - your flow will be a lot greater with the high pressure valve and I like to keep back pressure from the tank high for as long as possible. If you use the small exchange tanks I would keep a couple handy but 1 should work.

THats the regulator you need. I still use the original hose and a 15# tank. Like someone said before. If it stops working, close the tank and let the gas out of the line. Close the regulator all the way and hen turn the gas on the tank to on. Open regulator and gas will flow. I've been frustrated by it before but it's some sort of safety feature.

well I just realized that I don't have the piece that will connect the new regulator to the actual propane tank

Yea the grid type burners are much better.
Its all about flow rate and distribution. You can get the same flow rate from a grid burner with better heat distribution and wayyyyyyyyyyyy less noise than you can with one stupid arse grease zerk burner.

You can take the connector off of the old regulator with a 3/4" socket. That's what I did.
ETA: if you want a new one, they have 'em at Hardware stores.

I dont consider the whole setup shite. Only thing I changed out was the regulator and mine works fine. The connector that came on mine was either plugged up or defective because I had to drill it out to get enough pressure to boil. YMMV, but thats the only connector I have ever had an issue with.

I don't know. The double jet that I bought just like the one pictures in this thread is quieter than the multi jet burner I have at the camp. I actually stood around the double jet last weekend with some friends and we talked a a normal level. The only whisper quiet burners I have seen are the banjo burners and I would assume it would take forever to boil a pot
