Neither will be first round picks. Seems like a mistake. Are they getting bad advice?

Martin could very well be a first round pick.

Well I guess that possibility is enough then. Good luck to them.

Martin is a really nice player that will be a success in the NBA with his skill set. He played really well down the stretch and boosted his stock, so good decision on his part.

Mickey on the other hand...

Frick college basketball. It sucks being a fan bc you barely get a chance to know the players before they leave

I see both our bigs getting pushed around a lot by smaller but broader folks. People do not get smaller in the NBA. Wish them the best though.

Good college players aren't staying more than 2 years now. That's just the reality of the game now.

This doesn't mean he's leaving. He and Mickey are putting their names into the draft so they can get a grade and be scouted. If they get the feedback they're looking for, they'll leave. If they get negative feedback and scouts tell them to come back, don't be surprised if one or both return for their junior year. JOB did the same thing his Sophmore year. As long as they don't hire an agent, they can withdraw from the draft and come back.

Not surprised. Could have used another year but with the probability that he will go in the 1st round I can't blame him

Man, I'd love for Martin to come back. He was just getting special and would be awesome to team up with the talented Freshmen. At 6'10", with his athleticism and developing skill set, he can really make the case to go either way. I assume he is a late first rounder to mid-second rounder. I really hope he has a change of heart and stays one more year.

NBA is going to drool over Martin's ceiling. He'll be a first rounder I think and I don't blame him for going pro.

At 6'10" with his athleticism, he'll be on nba rosters for a decade if he stays healthy. He has improved a ton at LSU and is trending up.

Martin has potential, I like what bill parcells says about players with potential, means they haven't done it yet.

Martin is athletic big who can run the court. With that said, his spot in the NBA is the Three. He doesn't shoot well enough beyond 10 feet for the NBA, he is weak on defense.

He does have size, he does handle the ball decently for his size, and he does run court. That's his positives.

However, if you are going to have a long career in the n.b.a., you better be a great defender and or at least a lights out shooter. Neither of which Martin excells at to this point.

I don't see either mickey or martin getting much playing time at all. would not be shocked if Martin winds up in the second round and mickey not drafted.

Here is a common sense approach. If both these guys are NBA players, then how the hell did lsu not score a point fg or ft for 10 minutes and 25 seconds. NBA players make plays. The are good, not great, college players. They wont even make all america teams.

Definitely provided some highlights but he better learn to bring it every night in the NBA and learn to play defense or he will be on the bench most nights

The article says he is foregoing his career...which would mean hiring an agent. If they declare but don't hire an agent I'll keep some hope. But from all accounts, mickey cleaning out his locker and not going to meetings, and Martin "foregoing" his last 2 years, means they're hiring agents.

First off, Martin will be a stretch 4 type of player in the NBA and will be able to play the 3 or 4, depending in his teams lineup. He has a good shot that will get better and better from distance. Not like his shot is broke or whatever. He can shoot the ball and will improve each year.

Secondly, Martin is not weak on D. His DWS is right behind Mickeys and he's actually played good D at times. He's shown he can be an above average defender and is a much better defender than most people give him credit for.

Common sense approach ? This is retarded thinking right here. Kentucky has how many NBA players on their team? How many points do they average per game? 74.7ppg, we score 73.4ppg. And nobody in here has said shite and Jordan Mickey and the NBA. Actually msot people say he goes undrafted and plays in Europe most of his career. And at the fact that "they won't even make all America teams". You know what that means to the NBA? Nothing. And both of Martin and Mickey actually have a shot to make an AA team and both were All SEC.

horseshite.

There are 6'10" super athletic bench players that can't shoot or defend "lights out". He is decent shooter and good defender. With his size and athleticism he will easily fill in as role player in the league for years and will improve in both areas in the nba.
