Any reviews on this place?

Took my car in today for what I thought was an alignment issue and was quoted $1700+ for 3 bent tires, bent axle, etc.

I had read good reviews on this place, but as a female feel like I am being scammed always. I was told my vehicle was unsafe to drive home, but no appointments were available until 4/7. I needed new tires today! but they weren't comfortable with me getting them elsewhere now and returning for the axle work.

Basically, do any of y'all have a fair mechanic?

Big ol Yay. I brought my Mustang in, and he said he could string me along and take a bunch of money, or he could close it up for 75 bucks and told me I should get a new car.

I got a second opinion at Ross and they completely agreed with AGCO.

does your car vibrate really bad and then get worse and worse as you increase in speed?

If yes, then you probably have something bent/
If no, they are probably taking you for a ride.

Holy crap, I would get more than a second opinion.

I have no idea what type of car you drive, but bent axles are not something common for a daily driver.

3 bent wheels and a bent axle? You really hit something fricking hard to accomplish that.

WTF did you do to cause that damage? That's not normal wear and tear. You should know if that was the issue.

Honestly, for that type of damage, anywhere else would be okay. Know people who've used Firestone and had good things to say. Ultimate on the cheap but quick/solid work (not always best) is Tommy's in Central (think he has BR location now too).

I'm not sure what HC means by bent tires either. Assuming bent rim, which is different and can happen.

However, unless it is horrible, a bent rim can be fixed. If a bent rim is true, especially 3, you will have little doubt something is wrong. It will drive like a wagon on a cobblestone road.

I trust them and the repair is right but that trust is not cheap however the diagnosis is spot on.

They did recommend new tires for a problem I had with steel belts shifting and they do use only top of the line tires but for half price I got good enough from McDonalds Tires on Florida at Sharp.

Same with motor mounts on my YukonXL. $1200ish there, $800 at another shop.

They are fantastic at diagnosis, use great equipment and procedures and will fix it right the first time and the warrant their work.

They are big on spending the money now to prevent costly repairs later and it's hard to argue with that.

For piece of mind, I highly recommend them. I've never seen them do half assed work.

This is why I picked them originally, just want to hear a case or two where they didn't screw people over. Thought it was weird they were insistant I hit something major when I haven't. They said it could have been done years ago, but just now shown damage.

Are your tires wearing unevenly? You should be able to tell by eye, especially if they are getting long in the tooth.

A bent axle will, or C, will have steel belt showing on one part of the tire with plenty of tread on the other.

Drive down the road at 40 mph or so and let the steering wheel go, what happens? Does the car immediately pull to one side or the other?

Which wheels and axle do they claim are bent?

How would you bend the entire axle without getting into some kind of fairly serious collision? You only have two axles, and if it's the front axle of a front wheel drive vehicle (like a Focus), it would seriously effect your driving.

I think something is getting lost in translation here. Also, why would they not want you to get tires elsewhere, especially if you needed them? Did they really tell you to forego getting new tires and drive a potentially dangerous vehicle just because you wanted to get the tires from a different store?
