Not a surprise if true. Good luck on the next level.

Wish him well but the immediate next level could be the D league. A lot of 2nd round guys don't make it the first time around. He's certainly got the upside to develop. God speed to him if he's gone.

I really hope he gets to play from beginning, but I'm not sure. NCAA always seems to drag their feet when it comes to these things so I'm not even sure on a timeline for knowing.

Hate to see Mickey go. Will miss the nasty shot blocking and presence down low. Damn. Was really hoping he'd stick around. Best of luck to the young man.

He should certainly be remembered as one of the players who brought us back into being a competitive basketball program. He had some great games and of course some not so great.

It was pretty obvious that he and Quarterman had gotten worn down and/or were sick/injured in the last games of the season. I too have my doubts about him being ready for the pros but time will tell. I think he needs to get in a lot better physical shape and add some muscle.

Yup, I second that

He will be remembered for making it a trend for good recruits to come to Baton Rouge, not for his last month of play. His last month of play sure was disappointing though

No one is debating that team chemistry is important, just the idea that he may be a cancer in the locker room

"Cancer" might be a little dramatic. "Distraction" or "disruptive," might be better. The point being, there are lots of egos on that court. And one player can affect the whole team.

He's a nice player, but be careful what you wish for, sometimes.

And you are basing all this nonsense on the fact that LSU won a must win road game without him?

No, I'm basing it on the "news" that he took his ball and went home. Why, where's he got to be?

All of you who know for sure he wont make it in the league dont know shite. Are the odds against him? Yea the odds are against everyone. So most of you will probably be right but not because you know what you are talking about.

There are no "3s" and "4s" anymore. Teams draft on potential and if they think they will be contributers. Like someone said earlier, all it takes is one team to think that they can develop his shot and with his defense he very well could get picked up late. The prospective team doesnt have to see him as an immediate starter.

Talk about a bunch of whiny bitches up in here

Is Mickey pissed about something? I don't like it when players leave on bad terms.

Martin would be the kicker for the team next year. Big lineup of:

Newman
Blakeney
Simmons
Victor

of go smaller with

Quarterman
Simmons
Martin

I love how people quickly dismiss proven players for guys who havent even COMMITTED yet, much less signed an LOI

Where is Patterson or Hornsby??

jeez man

Exactly. That's what leads to unreasonable expectations, and fans trashing some of our best players.

Yep. Exactly many rantards problem in all sports. These kids are still 18 and some possibly 17 years old yet people love to pencil them in over a veteran 7 months before the first tip off
