He has a month to figure it out, so expect 10 daily threads on sightings of mickey around campus or lack thereof

Love how all you adults can rag on a kid and his decision. I'd rather the m &m's boys come back cause neither of them are locks to be 1st round picks

For now, I'll go with what the kid says. HE says he's still in school and has not yet decided. I'll take him at is word over a bunch of spiteful little message boards tools.

Personally, I think he clearly needs more time. He can block shots (in college) and can rebound, but there is no guarantee he can either in the pros. His offensive game is limited, even now. It would be more so in the pros. There are PLENTY of bigs coming or potentially coming out. He would be far down the list. Most likely not first round and possibly not even second. Most likely foreign bound.

If that's what he decides, more power to him. I'm not gonna bash the kid. He's a kid and a Tiger! He played for LSU and I'm not gonna turn on him like so many here find so easy.

Best of luck in YOUR decision Jordan!

Exactly Mickey is a talent against other 6'8 guys but. He can't shoot at all, can't handle the ball, and is turn over prone. I understand Tyrus Thomas, and Stromile swift because they were. 6'10-6-11 but he's barely 6'8. He'll be European league but make good money!

Basketball recruiting is 1 or 2 and done if you want to build an elite program. Personally I think Mickey should stay 1 more season but when you can be a multi-millionaire playing the game you love why not? Just hate to see anyone leave on such a bad note.... Oh well. He has to live with that. Unfinished business indeed?

Yeah, suggesting he wouldn't start is just plain silly.

Simmons is a PF, Martin is a PF, Mickey is a PF

none of them are 3's. This isn't NCAA2015 on Playstation.

99/100 teams play 1 point, 2 wings and 2 bigs at best, some 3 wings and 1 big. Not many teams trot out 3 bigs, none of which can shoot from the outside, at least no successful teams. I don't mean hit an elbow jumper at 35% when i say shoot from the outside either.
I don't envision an offense that does anything with all 3 of them on the court at the same time, unless one of them can legitimately play the wing, which i don't see.

Not saying it can't work, but i don't have faith in it right now.

doesn't matter anyway if Martin is leaving.

LSU sophomore forward Jordan Mickey is leaning toward entering the 2015 NBA draft, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports (Twitter link). Mickey averaged 15.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game for the Tigers this season. The 6’8? big man is currently ranked as the No. 81 prospect by DraftExpress.

Not bad to get your name out there Mickey, but seeing that many scouts have him in that (non-drafted) range, hopefully he sees the light and develops another year. Getting a free education, he has 12-15 years after to play ball then a degree to succeed in business world. Just would hate to see him languishing on Bench or D league in purgatory it support his decision either way.

Quote not from poster cited but from scouting source .

Hypothetical: If I said you can quit school today and make $50k for the next 3 years vs. staying in school 1 more year and making $100k the 3 years after that which would you think is the better deal?

I don't think Martin can double his money by coming back. And there's the risk he won't improve his stock at all. Factor that into your hypothetical.
