Mickey certainly did not save his best play for the end--more like the opposite. But best wishes to him anyway.

It would be tremendous news if Martin stays, but I would not count on that. We'll find out later. Nice to see he cares enough to stay in school, maybe he'll finish out the spring semester at least.

Based on their play at the end of the season, Martin would be a much bigger loss.

No, I'm basing it on the "news" that he took his ball and went home. Why, where's he got to be?

What the frick are you talking about? You first insinuate the kid may have been a "cancer" for his team when there has literally been no evidence whatsoever of that being the case. Then your basis that he may have been a "cancer" is the fact that he purportedly withdrew from school? If he has already made the decision to attempt a pro basketball career, why does he need to stick around at LSU? I suspect he will enter into some sort of pre-draft training program like 99% of other players entering the draft will do.

While keeping Martin would be GREAT, you have someone coming in who by all accounts is a better player at Martin's position and with the same skill-set. You don't have anyone on your roster who can replace what Mickey brought to the table.

Nor does anyone else in the country... haha

I'd rather Martin every day of the week to Mickey.

I'm not surprised, he looked like he cleaned out his locker before his last NCAA appearance.

If this is true, then good luck to him.

He had 12 and 14. Just blew it. His effort was not the problem

With Simmons coming in, and starting, If Martin comes back, he's starting too.
There's a good chance Mickey doesn't start next year, unless they want Martin playing the 3, which he needs to be able to do if he wants to be a lottery pick.
He doesn't need to be a 3, but he needs to show he can play it, like Draymond Green is doing in Golden State.

This might be pushing Mickey out too.

I think he's dumb for leaving, but understand it and wish him the best if he does.

It's funny to see the report saying "leaning towards the NBA draft". should say "turning professional" b/c he's not getting drafted, or playing in the NBA anytime soon.

Good for him. I wish him the best. But I won't give him a second thought after he takes off the LSU uniform. Except his missed free throws - I'll think of that from time to time I'm sure

Nola.com Article

That would be a big mistake. Second-round draft picks do not receive guaranteed contracts. Most end up in the NBA D-League.

Would Mickey rather spend the 2015-16 season playing in half-empty gyms for the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Mad Ants or playing for a spot in the Final Four?

There is ZERO percent chance Mickey doesn't start if he comes back. Sounded pathetic just seeing that typed. He was mid season CPOTY. Laughable

Yes Mickey starts if he returns. Not sure why he doesn't think he would.

And Simmons is a 3, Martin is a 4. Hell, most of the time this season our lineup was Gray/Patterson, TQ, Hornsby, Martin, Mickey. Simmons would move Gray/Patterson to the bench, and TQ and Hornsby would play the guards, Simmons the 3, Martin and Mickey the post players.

Well Mickey just released a statement (on Jacques Doucets Twitter)

He basically said he is going to talk to CJJ and his family and choose what is best for him and is going to use the full month to come to a final decision. also, he's still in enrolled in school (or so he says)
