So i've had it with Cox. This is the 3rd month in a row they randomly upped my internet service for no reason.

I am about to call and cancel so i'm wondering how is ATT's internet service? was thinking of getting the following plan

quote:

FastAccess® DSL Direct 6.0M
• $34.95/mo. for 6 months with no term commitment (new DSL customers only)
• Get an additional $15.00 off per month for 12 months with the purchase of new AT&T Home Phone Service and Internet
• At the end of 6 months, the regular full monthly rate of $57.00 will apply
• AT&T Wi-Fi Basic Included for Internet on the go

Cox is the only good option for internet and there is a general board consensus on this issue.

DSL sucks!

6.0 isn't Mb/s, it's the average time in minutes it takes to load a page with DSL.

Hard to beat Cox when it comes to strictly internet. DSL is garbage.

Verizon on a national scale

A few cities started their own

Google if your lucky

And a few local smaller isp's depending on your area.

AT&T is going to do fiber but in cities to compete with google other than DFW which is their HQ.

$57.00

Gets you around 50Mbps on Cox

ETA: 10$ or so more, gets you 100Mbps

Why don't you just call Cox and try to get whatever promotional price they are running for just internet right now?

DSL is a joke.

Your choices are U-Verse and Cox. Although I'm sure hughesnet would be glad to sign you up for a satellite contract so you can live in misery for 2 years.

I had U-verse for more than 2 years. Cox is superior. If you don't like the cost, call them and say you're switching to U-verse and they'll probably lower your bill. But seriously, $67/month for 50mbps with cox, or $57/month for an 8th of that speed with u-verse. Think about it before you get sucked into the 12-month promo price.

I did call them, and i probably will if there is no alternative to Cox. I'm just sick of the random rate increases and i ask them why and their only answer is "well thats our rate increase".

Cox is definition of monopoly here. We need options here.

No it's not. You have options. The other options might suck, but there are options.

100mbps is $77.99. I already did the "I'm gonna cancel" tactic over a year ago, so I had it for $59 until recently. Not sure if the tactic works more than once though.

I'm paying 49.99 for 50mbps right now.
Like it was said, there are other options...they are just shite.

Still, not a bad price considering your alternatives...

I've been with Cox, unfortunately, for years and they have never sneaked in rate increases..People that say this, are just looking for reasons to bitch...Cancel all the other crap leaving only internet and see how often your rates "unknowingly increase"

FWIW, I despise Cox, but they are the lesser of all the evils when it comes to getting what you pay for
