Just finished a home remodel and after a ton of research decided on a 48" bluestar platnium. I love the range so far with the exception of the large oven.

The issue is when preheating it puts out a ton of gas smell that if I didnt turn my hood on would fill up the whole kitchen. Just had a tech come last week and do a dhitter sdjustment but the gas oder is still there during preheat. Anyone have this range by chance and experience the same problems? Kind of upset in having to deal with this after spending this much on a range!

few pics, she does look awesome though!

It's a commercial range, you should expect commercial range smells.

That's a nice range but it looks like a crime scene with all those fingerprints. JK If the tech is getting you nowhere I would call BlueStar Corporate and ask if this is normal or if they have received similar complaints in the past.

I have a Blue Star range as well and have the same issue. There's no danger, but it does drive my wife nuts. I don't care. How's the oven otherwise? I got the side opening door, which I love, but had problems with the seal and had to get the door replaced. The convection fan can also be really loud at times. It cooks beautifully though. If I find myself equipping a kitchen again in the future, I'm all in on a Blue Star cooktop, but going with a different oven.

Also, that hood is awesome.

Cooks great, no issue except for the startup.

Definately love the range top, burners are awesome!

Thanks, built it myself. All reclaimed lumber from my great grandfathers house.

No such odor in my 30" bluestar RNB either during preheat or cooking. Call BbS corporate....
