That dark cloud continues to hover over the 49ers organization.

Chase Thomas, an outside linebacker who played five games for the 49ers last season, has suffered a torn ACL while working out, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

He's a Special teamer.

I think they'll be ok.

I've lived in SF the past few years and have become a bit of a Niners fan, but this shite's just getting to be funny now.

He was probably on track to become a starter at the rate things have been going.

At MLB some dude named Michael Wilhoite and Nick Moody who's best known for his mouthy jumpoff in college.

Exactly.

I give him 2 years at Michigan, tops.

Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and now Chase Thomas are all gone for at least 2015. Navarro Bowman missed the entire season due to his knee injury and might not ever be the same again. Aldon Smith is a fricking retard off the field and is one step away from being suspended the entire season, or maybe beyond.

?

What I'm saying is, they are basically in trouble.

Yikes. At least the organization will be saving some money.

It's like either the 49 ers are elite or just pretty meh over the last 30 years. I've been watching them since the late 80s so I guess there's kids that didn't see Montana and Young back to back.

In 2011-13 it looked like they had one of the brightest futures in all of football

In my opinion, Bill Walsh was the best to ever roam the sidelines. There's a reason modern day coaches treat Walsh's book like the Bible for coaching. As an evaluator of talent only Chuck Noll is in his league. As an offensive innovator, only Don Coryell comes close. Even Bill Belichick's philosophy of getting rid of players before their decline comes from Bill Walsh. Seifert maybe credited with 2 Super Bowl victories in the history books but that came off of the offensive philosophy, players & blueprint Walsh had already had in place.

As a Saints fan, it was painful watching them go up against the 49ers during 80s & 90s. Looking back at those times though & as much as I disliked them back then, you had to respect them. Before Walsh was brought in, that organization had been a joke. Up until then, the 49ers greatest claim to fame was being the final stop for a washed up OJ Simpson.

He WAS. After 2 LB's ahead of him retiring, I'd say he was going to be more than just a special teamer.
