Anybody think that this is part of Loomis preparing to step down soon and just take care of the pelicans? I mean we did just get rid of most of Loomis' big contracts, with the exception of a couple....

I would think the Saints mean more to him, but you never know.

-Sparky

I would think he would want to get out soon, with the mess he's made, so yes.

Ireland should have no GM powers. He completely sucked at that job.

A good coach will play to his player's strengths. It seems the front office has adopted this mindset within the leadership of organization. Let people do what they do best & everybody wins. I love the approach to this offseason by the entire organization. When Payton said he & Loomis would evaluate & make the necessary changes, he meant what he said. They saw what they were doing in the past had issues & decided to make changes. That's what real leadership is all about. Now it remains to be seen if these changes pay dividends on the field & I believe that they will.

I REALLY hope not. I don't mind Ireland doing some of the scouting because I think he has a good eye for front 7,o-linemen but I sure as frick don't want him being the guy completely in charge. He did a pretty piss poor job overall in Miami.

wondering how instrumental he might have been in any of the trades or free agency? He likely brought some different connections/networking. Might have been an atta boy, that's how we like things done type reward.
