We have information coming in to the office every day on CDs and DVDs that need to be transferred to our server. Usually it's anywhere from 6-12 disks per day. I'm wanting to build a cheap computer with 5-6 DVD drives that will allow me to transfer the info off the disks quickly, rather than 1 disk at a time. Other than buying multiple fast drives, is there anything else I need to keep in mind that would speed the process up?

ETA:
Was thinking something along these lines:

If you don't need it to be a full computer, you could just get a USB autoloader connected to a PC via USB, and set up some software to copy the CD/DVDs to the server.

They aren't cheap (since they are aimed at businesses), but it would save time vs. loading 6 CD trays and copying them manually.

If you're really doing this with multiple discs daily, might be wise for the business to invest in an even better model than the above.

Yes, there are enough SATA ports for those drives. PCPartPicker would throw out a warning if you added too many.

I like that autoloader

mainly thought of them for copying and duplication, but that one will autorip

pretty cool

much better than 5 bays of drives
