I take my 19' CC Mako out 20-25 miles for snapper and mangroves. I'm puckered up the whole time too.

Boomvang from Freeport in a 29 Contender, 120+ miles. Not a bayboat, but not a big boat. It was a blast.... That Contender was catching some air on the way out!!!! ETA- It's a Century, but I'll leave the mistake so you guys can keep having fun...

Been to Mars in a 24' bay stealth with three other boats. It was a day where you could have waterskied and there was some high pressure eliminating the chance of pop up storms.

Had EPIRB, satellite phone, emergency raft. I am a safety freak on my boat so I try to be as prepared as I can. Would make that trip again with multiple boats like we did.

Lol. That's not a big boat? We launched out of Cocodrie in a 25' Hydrasport and ran 110 miles, but it's definitely an offshore boat. Damn oil spill no-fish zones were big that summer. Had to head way south.

I saw a 16 foot aluminum bass boat boat motoring along out of sight of land out of Hackberry.

About 22 miles in a 22' Pro Master, but it was slicker than bird shite. We would go 12 miles with some regularity, though.

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should

We were about 10 miles out of Calcasieu one time when I was younger and this old dude (probably 75 or 80) goes motoring past us in about a 14' john boat with a tiller handle. I'm sure we felt like that charter captain who came across that dude in the kayak that went missing. It's your life, I can't stop you, but you dumb. At least the old dude was at the point of cashing out.

Went from madisonville to rigolets in a 16ft flat with a 40, me two other buddies and 4 cases of beer. Good times were had until a lil more than half way back and the lake went from glass to white caps.

I swear I've been in 5s in that lake. We were in a 22' Wellcraft and the coasties basically told us to get off the lake.

About 15-20 miles south of Marsh Island/SW Pass in a 21' Nauticstar with single 150. I wouldn't do it if the weather wasn't favorable but I haven't been worried when I did it...

Used to take a 21' Seahunt 60 miles offshore on the East Coast when we were young and dumb.

Never again, had some hairy situations. We'd usually end up following in the wake of a sporty out and in to knock down the swell ahead of us.

ETA: also did ~30 miles a couple of times in a 17' We dumb.

18’ tri hull w a mercruiser bout 20 miles from last Island – which is about 18 miles too far .... as someone else said those days are long gone, the red S on my chest has faded alot. Although w/ my life insurance and work accidental death coverage my wife may say giddy up.

In a 25’ well craft w twin 200s - 80+ mi in calm conditions and stayed overnight during rodeos. I know some other divers that go 120 mi+ during rodeos in 25-28’ boats when conditions are right. The often go out w/ another boat. Out of Burns Pt we used to make day trips to 60 mi one way just to get into snapper... that was back in the day when the no more fishing service had more than 3 day season .....
