I'm fine with an initial investment. But the rate at which City spends is just ridiculous at this point.
ok, at what point does it cease to be a fair investment and become evil?

You guys haven't really discussed this much so far, but my biggest probably as a City fan currently is that a large group of our aging and seemingly complacent core got 5 year extensions. I also don't understand stocking the team full of redundant players, like fernando and fernandinho, or picking players from the coach's past that he overvalues. We probably are spending too much on the facilities of the academies and whatnot as opposed to the scouts, but we have tried to bring in several former Barcelona guys to enhance that area. Everyone respects their academy, and I believe we're trying to recreate that. In the meantime, we're spending insane amounts because teams in the champions league are deeper with even higher top flight talent than our own.
As sort of a silly personal aside, I don't want us to buy any more africans since our season comes off the rails every time the Africa cup of nations begins. I also think yaya is far more irreplaceable than david silva.

Yeah I think there's a lot to criticize in terms of the wisdom of some of their moves. I just defend the owners right to spend their own money foolishly

I'd also like to mention that we got second in the group last year to bayern due to goal differential, when we both had 15 points I believe. Continuously drawing barca is crippling our UCL chances. It's not like arsenal losing to monaco, the best player of all time is toying with us instead.

Liverpool have spent a lot of money recently. I find it hilarious that you're trying to compare that amount to what City have spent. Worlds apart.
I didn't say they were evil just idiotic. And yes they have two more titles than we do. They also have spent over quadruple what LFC have spent in the same time frame. I have no issue with how they spend their money. But I'm allowed to call a spade a spade.
That type of spending is hilariously stupid and won't sustain any long term success.

Aguero and Silva are still really damn solid. This team can't be rebuilt without those two IMO.

Buying a shite ton of role players and mids while pretty much ignoring the back 4 is crippling our chances.

The real question to me is, when will Draconian's inner Geordie come out to debate this with his inner Parisian?
Or does that side only come out in the summer, with it's myopic optimism, only to never be heard from again that season after the turn of the year?

frick the Africa Cup of Nations.
I'd hate for City to lose Silva or Toure, but if you put a gun to my head, I'd get rid of Silva first.

Might want to rephrase that.

Toure can be brilliant when he gives a shite...unfortunately those days are becoming more and more rare. Give me Silva.

Liverpool won at Camp Nou with a dire squad under Rafa.
It's the mercenary shithouse mentality. They don't fight for the club and it shows on the field.
Over a drawn out season, it has worked but its just not a winning formula.
Hell one of those titles was basically a fluke anyway.

People here call the cake factory
City created this problem and now they have to deal with it.
They could be a Europa level team at best when they rebuild.
