Guys like Amari Cooper and even Kevin White are getting a lot off attention but it seems parker is flying a tad under the radar.

For those who don't know:

quote:

STRENGTHS: Excellent height/length body type with the frame to get stronger. Long-striding speed with natural lower body explosion to get vertical in a hurry. Shows multiple gears in his routes to set up defenders. Quick-starter with the initial movements off the line of scrimmage to gain free release and stack corners, using field leverage to give him room to work down the sideline. Disguises routes well with a strong plant foot, selling his patterns with crisp footwork. Shows some shake in the open field with quick cuts to deceive after the catch and the vision to collect YAC. Tracks the football and extends well to attack with a large wingspan and natural body control ? usually reliable ballskills. Above average vertical with the leaping ability to hang in the air. Deceiving body strength and not a push-over, running tough and not allowing coverage defenders to slow him down in his routes. Tougher than he looks and not an easy ballcarrier to finish off. Confident competitor and won?t shrink in crunch time. Frequent visitor to the end zone with a touchdown every 4.7 catches for the Cardinals. Consistently productive in college and leaves Louisville ranked top-five in several categories, including career receiving yards (2,775) and career receiving touchdowns (33).
WEAKNESSES: Leaner-than-ideal frame and needs to add muscle and bulk. Good speed for the position, but can be caught from behind. Usually reliable hands and focus, but will allow the ball into his body at times and tends to have concentration lapses. Better with the ball away from his body where he can extend and attack. Room to improve his footwork off the line to beat press and get into his routes. Needs to improve his coverage reads to better manipulate defenders instead of using the same moves each play. Will get himself in trouble extending his arms away from his body to push off ? won?t get away with that in the NFL. Willing blocker, but has room to improve in this area. Durability concerns due to his lean frame and college injuries, including a left foot injury (Aug. 2014) that required surgery and sidelined him for the first seven games of his senior season, also missed one game as a junior due to a right shoulder injury (Oct. 2013).

--Dane Brugler

COMPARES TO: A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals ? Although he?s not quite on the same level as Green, Parker is just a notch below with a similar athletic skill-set with the height and length to tower over defenders.

Would you be against him at #13? This is assuming a run of pass rushers happens before and most of our targets are gone.

It all depends who's on the board. I'd much rather we focus on the online or rush linebacker at 13 and Ilb at 31. Then WR in the second round

I like Parker, but not at #13. And for a few reasons...

We took a WR in the 1st last year with Cooks. Don't like using back to back 1st picks on same position, especially skill positions. And considering we have glaring needs at other spots and its a deep WR class, I would pass on any WR not named Amari Cooper or Kevin White at #13.

At #13, I want a player that could be elite. I think Parker could be a good NFL WR, but not elite. There are 2 elite WR prospects in this draft in Cooper and White. If 1 of them fall to us, it's a different story. We could get an elite prospect at the OL or edge rusher at 13.

It's another deep WR class. I would much rather address OL + D with our two 1st round picks. And then get a WR like Perriman, Coates, Agholar, Greene, etc in the 2nd. And there are some quality WRs that you can get even later like Tre McBride, Justin Hardy, Tyler Lockett, Ty Montgomery, Diggs, etc.

I've seen a few mock drafts with us taking Parker at #13.

I think we go defense with one of our first round picks even though there isn't any drop off in talent from 31-44.

I'd love to grab Parker. But I doubt he's even there. But it all depends on who's there.

WRs may go early and let defensive guys fall. Or pass rushers may go early and free up WRS and offensive linemen. Its just BPA

Nothing againast Parker, but I hope we don't take him at 13. He's a steal in the 2nd round. But we all know our front office likes to reach with their 1st round picks and makes us all scratch our heads sometimes.

um what? Besides PRob, who the hell was a reach for us? This is one of those sound good statements that has absolutely no truth to it.

even if every single OLB is still there at 13, don't expect us to take one. based on this organization's history of not touching the position anywhere in the first 2-3 rounds, it's a fool's bet to think they will this time. I'm not opposed to picking one; I just don't think they will do it.

The pick will be OG, DT (if shelton is there), CB, WR.

I'd like him at 13. It's him or a pass rusher. This team is not taking an offensive lineman at 13.

I would be against it but just because there are 13 other players I like us taking better than him. That is including the two QBs because I would like us grabbing either if they happen to fall that far

This off season you should not be so predictable MDS

The Saints are not.

JG and just dumping PT were stunners to me and the addition of Ireland makes this draft completely unpredictable.

I will not use any of the past years to look forward this time.

I'm just saying don't get your hopes up for an OLB. I don't care who the scouting department is; the coaching staff is still the same, and they are the ones consistently disappointing us and never drafting an OLB when it has been a clear area of need since their arrival. That tells me they don't value the position as a 1st round grade the way many others do. Maybe they shock me this year, but I am not holding my breath.

I do have a theory as to why they don't hold the position to that value. Most of these players are pass rushers only, and that limits their use. A first round player must be an every down one, and specialty players ought to be reserved for later rounds. If this is truly their thinking, the only one I can see them drafting would be Dupree. He seems to be a do it all OLB, and he has the size to dominate

ETA: To the OP's questions, I wouldn't have an issue with drafting Parker. I don't know much about him, but if he is the BPA then do it. Who cares if we used a 1st on WR last season; you need at least 2 to field a team, so go get your second if he's the value pick

I hope they change their mind because this line of thinking has us in the position we're in now.

love Parker. Would def consider him at 13 if he's there. would be the 1st WR off the board had he played a full season this past year

I like Parker a lot. I dont think he's at White or Cooper yet, but he's definitely in their tier. Depending on who's available, I would not be upset if we took him at 13. However, I would really like to have him, but he's sort of like a worst-case scenario for us there.

I would only take a WR at 13 if on of the top two are there. Even then I don't like taking a WR.
